I can't live without television. I don't know about you but every day when I get home from school I lie down on the sofa and watch television and then take a nap but we’re not focusing on that right now.

Ok where were we? Oh yeah, who in the world cannot live without television? Definitely not me! Can you? And, as you already heard, I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT IT!

Sorry, I guess I’m like my mom and sometimes get a little emotional.

What am I saying? Normally instead of writing this I would be laying on the sofa watching television drinking hot cocoa. So do you lie on the sofa drinking hot cocoa like me? Or do you work on the computer like my mom and dad?

I especially love sitting in front of the television taking naps and watching it and drinking my hot cocoa. Oh sorry, I am just getting carried away.

Ok, now since this story is getting longer let’s take a little break.

Ok breaks over lets get back to business!

So what are you doing now? Are you sitting in front of the television? Depending on what you like, television can take you wherever you want to go. I can travel anywhere I want, learn about animals, learn about history and, oh, yeah, laugh with my favorite show, I Love Lucy! My mom and I just love that show to death! She even took me to Jamestown 3 years ago to go to a I Love Lucy Festival.

Imagine you can see places or things you may never see ever in your life. You can visit Rome, Paris, or you could see a two-headed porcupine or a 20-headed rattlesnake! There is a lot to learn watching television.

Television is also important because you could learn about your environment and learn if there is crime in your neighborhood. And it is also important for your child’s safety. A couple of weeks ago, my mom found out that some of my toys had to be thrown away because she watched the television.

My mamma likes to watch shows like Hannity and Combs, the History Channel and old movies. And daddy loves cowboys – boy does he love John Wayne! And me? I like, no, love Hannah Montana. But that is not my point. My point is that the television is there to relax and watch a movie or maybe for safety and to learn.

There are plenty of shows for all kinds of people. Are you fun and sporty, funky and cute or cute and girly? What is your style movie? I know mine is funky and cute. Fun and sporty means sports are my thing. Funky and cute means shopping channel. Cute and girly means you love story time. But men may not understand all that I just explained.

Now you know a little why I just can’t live without my television. I’m sick, so last night I saw a show all about Tigers and I felt like I was right there. Television is so good for the imagination.

This is my question to you. Do you like the news or cowboys or Hannah Montanna? Maybe you have favorites that I didn’t even mention.

Well that’s I can think of on this subject so have a great day!

Hi Laura, wow! I had no idea that you had been writing this long? Tell your mother - (Ethel) that she should have told me! (Smiles) I am glad I discovered you. I think God wanted me to. You have a gift, I'm praying for you everyday. And just so you know, my favorite shows are the fun and cute ones too. I like to lay on the couch and take a nap, in fact, its one of my favorite things to do!
