Can we really reduce the signs of aging? There are several things we can do to look and feel younger but I believe the way we eat has more credibility for making us look and feel great than anything sold in a bottle or tube today. And what about plastic surgery? Does it really make us look younger?

I truly believe we start to look “like” the way we eat. If we eat greasy fast food hamburgers and french-fries at dinner and potato chips, and soda pop later on in the evening, and do this for several days in a row, we’ll have no energy, puffy eyes, pimples, and blotchy skin. But when we eat raw fruits, vegetables and other wholesome foods on a daily basis we’ll have more energy, our skin begins to clear and reveals a natural glow, and it doesn’t matter what age we are! Try it for two weeks and see for yourself.

As we all know, the most important aspect of having nice clear skin is eating fresh fruits and vegetables daily. If you can take an extra fifteen minutes in the morning to juice some carrots, apples, pears, etc in the blender each morning, or even every other day, you will notice a skin improvement within weeks. The natural foods in life are what works best.

We have been blessed with everything we need to stay healthy and wise. And yet, many of us do not take heed to this important part of life that has been freely given to us. We believe the miracle to wrinkles is found in a bottle. We tend to make our health and other important aspects of our life, harder than it should be.  But eating for good health is so simple and readily available.

We don’t need to be a celebrity to look and feel great. As a matter of fact some of the best products for our skin cost a fraction of the cost of those wrinkle creams in a bottle or processed vitamins do. Vitamins come from the foods we eat and not from a processed little pill.

It is true; we have to take care of ourselves to look good and feel great, and our skin needs scrubbed lightly and then moisturized daily. If we absolutely must put something on our face, the most simple and cost effective products would be pure Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, or Apple cider Vinegar. All three of these natural products will reduce the signs of aging better than a thirty-dollar bottle of wrinkle cream with collagen in it.

Why do we spend our hard earned dollars on wrinkle creams? Because we are obsessed with the way we look, and we actually believe that these lotions and creams will make us look younger!  But is younger really what we should be after? How about keeping fit in our forties and fifties and even into our sixties and maintaining the “natural look” of who we are?

How about when we are forty looking forty instead of looking forty with a face lift? When we’re sixty allowing the natural color of our hair, and the natural lines of our skin make us look like we are sixty, instead of sixty with a mask on our face?

The forty and fifty something woman who takes care of herself is a picture of beauty in her au natural self. I can always tell when a celebrity had a face-lift or Botox – she does not look natural. She will often have puffy uneven lips, stretched tight mask like skin, and a contorted face.

The natural fine lines and crows feet in the woman over forty, who takes care of herself are part of who she is. The way she smiles and laughs and loves life. The natural wrinkled look of the woman over forty actually looks better than someone who spent thousands of dollars on a face-lift.

God created us to show signs of maturing as we age because some day, not that far from forty, fifty or sixty something we won’t have a mortal body that ages and tells us when we do not eat right.  I think that our Creator would like that we take care of ourselves so we enjoy life to its fullest while we are walking on this earth in our mortal bodies and be happy and content with the skin we’re in.

Someday, we won’t have to worry about cellulite and wrinkles because we’ll be in the spiritual form, but for now let’s be joyful for the way we look and feel, and take care of ourselves the best we can.

hi angie, great article. you, also, have a flare for the truth, and that's a very good thing in any form, but in writing as well. i'm going to try that apple cider vinegar. i also can spot a botoxer or a face lifter a mile away. does joan rivers really think she looks good? someone better not ever light a cigarette too close to her. you shouldn't look 40, if you're in your 60's and 70's, unless it's natural. i have worn make-up for a total in my life, of about a year all together. for special occassions. other than that, el naturale. the only thing i do is color my hair. i like your writing style,
best regards,
sue thom

Susan, I am sitting here reading your comment and I am laughing so hard, I can't stop. You do have a sense of humor! ;-) My teenagers are asking me what's so funny, I tell read them your comment and they reply,"Whose Joan Rivers?" I said a woman a little bit before your time.

Thanks for the laugh! LOL
Angie
