A good way to start would be to ask yourself these questions . Are the providers you are considering credible , Do they have expertise in this area ,and what kind of experience do they have ? Are they insured by a policy geared strictly for thier profession . Have they been parents themselves , learniing from practical experience . Are they willing to provide to you , referrals from other clients ?

First impressions are important , so follow your instincts . Are you comfortable with this person , or persons ? Do you feel rushed , or pushed into buying their products or service , and feeling somewhat overwhelmed ? Many proofers have a background of marketing or sales . Ask what their background is .
Installing and selecting products requires mechanical ability , and thinking the way a child would .

Some unscrupulous providers may give the impression that the " job " you are requesting to be done , is relatively " easy " , and may offer you a vast array of products . REMEMBER THIS : All jobs are not necessarily " easy " ! They take " Time " , " Expertise " , and " Experience " to get the job done properly . The vast array of " products " they offer may not have been thoroughly checked for for reliabilty . Unfortunately not all products function well or are safe . This is a unregulated business .

A good baby proofing service provider , will offer you only the best products , available on the market today . As a professional baby proofing company they will be able to tell you which prooduct , or products will work best for your situation , and be able to provide to you , a reasonable explanation why .

Beware of a service company who encourages , you to purchase your own safety products , for your home , and then are willing to install them for your childs safety . This may very well be an attempt to hide the fact , that they do not have adequate product knowledge , or cannot obtain the proper products . This is good way for them to get off the hook for problems later , they installed what you purchased .

Consider their " attitude " , in regard as to how they approach you . For example do they use scare " tactics " ? This is uncalled for . Good child safety education is all that should be necessary . Being a parent should be a enjoyable experience . There is no reason to make a parent paranoid about every little thing that might take place . Having your home made into a safer place should make your life a little less stressful . Enjoy the experience of being a parent . With your home properly baby proofed , and your vigilance over your child . You have done all you can as a good parent .
Are the baby safety providers you are interviewing willing to take on a job , which might be too difficult for them , and then attempt to devise a solution , which may not be correct , or even safe ! You would be well advised to " steer clear " of these providers . At this point I would advise asking to see what thier custom work looks like . They should be able to provide you with picture's if they are confident and professional .

The reason for child proofing your home is quite simply , to prevent injuries , and potential fatalities . Do not compromise time , effort ,and most importantly , experience , to save money . Remember ..... What is important to you is important to us . Your childs life and well being , is precious , and cannot be replaced .
