This costume won me first prize last year, first time ever! It cost me about $8 to make and took a mere hour to construct. This costume can be used for children or adults by adjusting the size of the box you use for your "table".

What You'll Need:

1 Large Box (I used a computer box, but again, adjust according to body size)

1 plastic tablecloth

1 aluminum roasting pan or platter

2 plastic goblets

2 plastic dishes

glue gun

creepy crawlers

plastic machete (or large carving knife)

First, cut a hole in the box large enough to get your head thru. Also cut a hole on either side of the box for your arms. Next, hot glue (carefully!) the tablecloth to the box and cut a hole a bit smaller than the original one in the box (this is to overlap the fabric once you've cut and glued the roasting platter. Aluminum cuts are nasty!)

Center the roasting pan/platter over the hole and cut to same size (or a little larger) as hole in box. Once you've glued it down, fold the excess tablecloth fabric over the edge of the roasting pan edges to cover up the rough spots.

Hot glue the plates, goblets and machete/knife onto the "tabletop". Scatter creepy-crawlers around the platter and the table. Wear dark clothes (your legs are the table's legs) and GO! One word of advice. You might want to make the hole large enough to stick your hand thru so you can enjoy a drink or snack. I brought along a very long straw...a gal's gotta have a beverage, you know?!

Have fun and stay safe!
