The first reason that men develop breasts is Gynecomastia. The main cause for this disease is hormonal imbalance. Often the breasts developed during Gynecomastia are not primarily fatty tissue. Furthermore, the nipples are enlarged. To decrease the actual size of the breast and reduce the nipple size to something more expected in a man, one must address the issue of hormones.
The obvious first choice here is to obtain the appropriate drugs from your doctor. After one overcomes the embarrassment of the condition and confronts one's doctor with a request for treatment, often the doctors suggest just waiting for male maturity. This might be appropriate for preteen and young teens, but in adult males it is not a solution. At least it is not a solution for a man who finally has faced up to his situation and is looking for a solution, now. The doctors have two solutions to offer. The first solution is a drug strategy. The second solution is surgery.
In other articles I have made my opinion quite clear with regard to the use of pharmaceuticals. My biggest concern here would be the possibility of side effects from the hormonal drugs. The other question is duration of treatment. Does one need to take the drugs for the rest of one's life?
Surgery is the poorest choice to get rid of man boobs if the cause of man boobs is actually the disease Gynecomastia. The surgery in this situation would remove muscle not fatty tissue to reduce the size of the breasts. Also, surgery will not reduce the size of the nipples.
In summary, neither drugs nor surgery satisfactorily answer the question - how to get rid of man boob when the cause in Gynecomastia. Hormonal imbalances can often be traced to diet. Certainly there may be some genetics involved, but diet will also be a significant factor. Using exercises and diet and other natural strategies is my recommended treatment when one suffers from the disease Gynecomastia.
The second reason that men develop breasts is poor life style choices, or simply obesity. In this case the nipples may not be significantly oversized and the breasts are oversized due to fatty tissue. The three alternative treatment strategies are the same: drugs, surgery and natural treatment.
Because the drugs would now be aimed as weight reduction and fat loss, this is a whole different set of drugs. To date there does not seem to be one drug or pharmaceutical weight loss treatment which is universally effective. Accordingly, there may be some trial and error if drugs are selected as the treatment strategy. The same negative comments apply to any drug strategy as before.
Surgery is a reasonable but expensive choice of treatment for the obese version of man boobs. In this situation, the surgery removes fatty tissue and the nipples do not need a reduction in size. Of course, all surgeries present a risk to the patient. Also there is a possibility of scarring.
Once again my preferred treatment strategy is the natural method with at least a combination of diet and exercise. One must be cautious of the type of exercises as some will actually increase the breast size. There are programs which promote the natural treatment to get rid of man boobs. Whether the cause is Gynecomastia or poor life style choices, a proved regimen of diet and the correct exercises will naturally reduce the breast size. By paying special attention to one's diet, hormone balancing can also be achieved.

I am not certain what you are saying is rubbish, but...
There are several reasons for surgery.
There are also two distinct issues, both referred to as man boobs. Man boobs caused by obesity is obviously an overweight problem. Some individuals address that problem with lyposuction of the fatty tissue in the chest. This is not recommended, it is just what some sufferers do. A recommended solution for the obesity type of man boobs is proper exercise and diet. If there is not mammary gland abnormal activity, then the nipples will not be enlarged. So the issue is solely a fatty tissue problem in the chest.
The second type of man boobs or gynecomastia, does relate to the mammary glands. This disease is basically hormonal imbalance. It may or may not involve fatty tissue in the breasts. This disease is addressed with several strategies. Yes you could use surgery although again it is not recommended for several reasons: expense, rehabilitation time, possible scarring, risk inherent with any surgery, etc. The recommended solution with gynecomastia is proper hormonal balancing through diet and possibly herbal treatments such as gynexin or gynemax. This should be accompanied with proper exercise to firm and reshape the male breast.
