This has been a subject that has been talked about a lot over the years. Everywhere we look these days we see youth and beauty along with the ways to achieve it as we get older.

This is a short story about my search and the discoveries and developments made as I went along.

I came across a NEW technology and then went very much further by developing it into something that would reverse the age of people’s skin. It is called Photo Rejuvenation.

What is photo rejuvenation you may ask? Well my quick definition is: the use of light to stimulate the reversal of aging.

You see, people need certain wavelengths of light similar to the way plants need sunlight to thrive. Your skin has the ability to absorb light and use it as a source of energy to stimulate cellular regeneration. Seems kind of space age doesn’t it. But it is true. My initial information came from NASA To give a proper explanation about how and why this new technology works I will need to educate you a little on the structure of your skin. Don’t worry about technical words and stuff, I have worded it so that it is easy to understand.

Structure of the Skin

Your skin is basically made up of THREE layers the Epidermis, the Dermis and the Hypodermis.

The Epidermis is the outer layer made up of non-living cells that form your body's protective cover. These cells are constantly being shed and replaced by new ones. Remember this piece of data. The skin cells on the outer layer of your skin are constantly being shed and replaced by new ones.

The next layer is the Dermis . It is thicker and contains blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. There are two main proteins in the Dermis or second layer of skin:

Collagen , approximately 3/4 of the Dermis is made up of this protein which is responsible for the strength of the skin.

Elastin , which is responsible mainly for the elasticity of the skin.

The next layer is the Hypodermis , it is the layer that contains the fatty tissues and stores energy, provides warmth and a cushion etc.

I am going to get a little technical here but I am also keeping it as simple as possible so you can easily understand the process of how your skin rejuvenates.

Collagen and elastin are produced in cells called Fibroblasts. Inside these cells is a smaller cellular structure called Mitochondria. Mitochondria are responsible for converting nutrients into an energy carrier known scientifically as Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). This (ATP) fuels the cell's activities it basically gives the cells the needed energy to do their job.

ATP - Nature's Energy Store

All living things, plants and animals, require a continual supply of energy in order to function. The energy is used for all the processes which keep the organism alive. Some of these processes occur continually, such as the metabolism of foods etc. However, before the energy can be used, it is first transformed into a form which the organism can handle easily. This special carrier of energy is the molecule adenosine triphosphate, or ATP. (Nobel Prize winner Paul May – Bristol University)

The Fibroblast cells are responsible for producing the protein Collagen and Elastin. Other cells produce various different things needed to repair and heal your skin.

Remember what I told you earlier, in order for your skin to continue to exist, it has to constantly reproduce new cells to take the place of the ones that are being shed.

Photo Rejuvenation

Your skin has the ability to absorb light and use it as a source of energy to stimulate cellular regeneration. The key to this is having the proper wavelengths of light flowing through your skin.

The Photo Rejuvenation produced by the LightStim Photo Rejuvenation Light are the correct wavelengths and they stimulate the cell activity this increases Collagen and Elastin production. (The proteins responsible for the thickness, strength and elasticity of the skin)

It translates the process of plant photosynthesis into the workings of human skin cells, stimulating the body's own cells to build new proteins the same way plants use chlorophyll to convert sunlight into cellular building blocks.

The LightStim Light flows the proper wavelengths of light through your skin's epidermis (first layer of skin) to fibroblast cells. (which produce such structural proteins as collagen and elastin.)

When the light hits the mitochondria (the part of the cell which transforms food into ATP, usable energy) inside the fibroblast cells, it stimulates the cell's energy transport system. The cell produces more structural proteins than usual. That action replenishes the cells that have been shed and gives the skin more collagen and elastin making it thicker.

The reason this is so important is this:

When a person gets to the age of 35 or 40, their natural rejuvenation process slows down. (ie less collagen and elastin is produced naturally at that age) When this occurs we get a thinning effect in the skin causing sags, lines and wrinkles etc. You can see that if we increase the production of collagen and elastin that the skin will get thicker and more elastic, therefore eliminating sags, lines and wrinkles.

I hope you are staying with me here and that I am not getting too technical. I am trying to keep this as easy as possible.

You see, when the light is flowed through the skin, the mitochondria produces 2 to 4 times more ATP, and therefore 2 to 4 times more collagen and elastin than normal. Like if someone was 50 years old, by using photo rejuvenation, they would be able to get their skin to produce the same or similar amounts as when they were say 30 or 35 years old. That is a reversal of age of the skin, not a cover up.

Nutrition

Now let’s take this a little further and ask another question: If the cells have 2 to 4 times more energy to produce the needed substances to rejuvenate, what would happen if we supercharged the skin with the proper nutrients needed for the conversion? Would that speed the process? Would it help reverse the age of the skin.

The answer to that is yes, big time!

I consulted the foremost skin care ingredient expert in the world, Rebecca James Gadberry. She is the lead coordinator and lead instructor of UCLA extension’s Cosmetic Science Program and has been since 1986. Her awards and credentials go on forever.

Together we put together a skin care system that covers all the bases. Outstanding results occurred when we had people follow the system and use the light. People were looking 10 to 15 years younger in 3 to 8 weeks. Their skin had actually reversed in age. Pretty cool.

Something else that happens as we age: Our facial muscles get un-toned. Facial skin is attached to facial muscles (try to smile without your skin moving). As we age our facial muscles start to get flab"

I did a study and then developed a series of easy facial exercises to add to the program. By doing these Facial Exercises the natural tight tone of the contours of the face come back and with continued use, are maintained.

This is a quick summary of how to reverse the age of your skin by 10 to 15 years in 3 to 8 weeks:

Increase the energy in the cells of your skin 2 to 4 times or more with photo rejuvenation.

Feed your skin the needed ingredients to rebuild.

Do precise facial exercises to tone your facial skin and muscles.

The whole process takes about 20 minutes a day then cuts back to less usage as you approach your target.

Reverse the age of your skin 10 to 15 or more years and keep it that way.

A simple home use system that works very well as proven by clinical tests and studies.

Craig Baird
