Harry Potter Fans, Ron's Fairytales come to life, but J.K. Rowling will never publish them, for seven good reasons.
A book of new fairy tales, written by JK Rowling, is to be auctioned in London this December, to raise money for the children's charity, The Children's Voice which J.K. Rowling co-founded herself. Some people are estimating the auction high bid to be around 50,000 lbs, (103,959.05 USD). It could be higher, depending, no one can really tell until the auction day.
As the end of the Potter series were drawing near, J.K. had wanted to specially thank the people who were most closely related to the creation and support of Harry Potter, no matter what she thought of to buy, nothing really seemed adequate enough. Then as she was writing the seventh series, a thought had occurred to her. She could hand write a special edition to her Harry Potter theme, and give it to those special people for which she felt gratitude.
In conjuring up what to write, another thought had occurred to her, what if she wrote the books listed in one of the Harry Potter novels, by Ron. Ron had mentioned books he had read through the series, and J.K. took those titles, and made the books come to life. Not in the traditional publishing house ways, but she wrote them all with her own hand, created illustrations, and each of the Fairytales have a unique title, and story line.
In going over all the books that Ron had mentioned, she had another thought occur. There were six people she really wanted to thank, but she wanted to write seven books. (Ergo, seven books in the series.) She chose to write the seventh book, and put it up for auction, donating all the proceeds to her childrens charity, The Childrens Voice, which will be explained and a link provided at the end of this article.
What are the titles of Fairytales?
The mini one time only series, as J.K. of course has the rights, and chooses the right to never publish them, Titles go as follows.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard
The Fountain of Fair Fortune
The Wizard and the Hopping Pot
Babbity Rabbity, and her cackling stump
The Warlocks Hairy Heart
The Tale of the Three Brothers (already told story)
These fairytales were made in leather bond cover, decorated with gem stones, and each has an individual dedication. The seventh book, she refers to as the Moon Stone Edition, will be auctioned off on December 13th, 2007, at Sotheby's London Auction House, in at an estimated starting price of 30,000, US 62,392.36.
The book of fairies stories opens a new world for JK. Rowlings charity work, and at the same speed is maintaining fantastic story telling abilities in the imaginary world.
She was asked why she chose The Childrens Voice charity, and in a nutshell, she replied that the powerlessness of children who are mentally handicapped, mentally ill, and whose parents leave, or have their children taken to an institution, and some put in cages, she couldn't think of any person with less of a voice, disenfranchised, she couldn't think of anyone more vulnerable, or more in need, of an articulate voice.
She had admitted that she was very wealthy when asked by a BBC reporter, but she was very gracious in how she imaged herself, and felt that as long as her families needs were met, and she of course wasn't complaining, as anyone with money shouldn't, but she did have a humane attitude for the less fortunate, and this isn't her first charity effort. She had auctioned off a pair of shoes in 2003, she had gone on stage with Steven King, (One of J.K.s biggest fans) and Whoopi Goldberg in the Charity event, Harry, Carrie and Garp, and no doubt that won't be the last charity effort that J.K. Rowling supports.
Is there more to come from J.K. Rowling?
If you want the goodies, without the Fan Fiction clouding the subject, then hop onto Jo's official website. Here she dispels the truth about her books, she stomps out the gossip ring of fire mostly set out on the net, and sets her viewers straight on the whole truth about her novels. And on her site, you also have a glimpse into Jo's personal life, her children, and her favorite Harry Potter Fan Sites, that she even gives awards to, if she feels they are genuine.
J.K. did a wonderful job in picking the perfect gift of thanks to those closest to the Harry Potter Sega, the close six's names haven't been revealed as of yet, I wonder if Daniel Radcliffe, (Harry Potter) is one?
Ohhh, and one more thing. Dumbledore, being gay?
I saw an interview on the BBC, with J.K. Rowling, and at the end she was asked the question she's been hearing a lot lately, and I'm going to adlib this one. Why did she come out and say Dumbledore was gay, after not mentioning him in the series of Harry Potter Books? She told the BBC reporter, that the fans had always focused on Harry, and if anyone had directly asked her prior to then, she would have told them, up until that point, no one had asked her, so she didn't feel a need to say anything.
As one of my readers pointed out, she was being honest, and truthful when asked a hard question.
