Cut the "im" out of impossible, leading that dynamic word standing out free and clear - possible. These words were penned by Norman Vincent Peale, a man who has touched and transformed lives in our generation. How you perceive life is important because what you see is what you get. Those who have changed the world are those people who are possibility thinkers. These are people who investigate a situation until they find a way out of the seemingly impossible. Norman Vincent Peale also said, " Become a possibilitarian. No matter how dark things seem to be or actually are, raise your sights and see possibilities-always see them for they're always there."

On 25 October 2007 history was made in aviation, the Airbus A380 made its first commercial flight with 455 passengers aboard from Singapore's Changi airport to Sydney. Despite the fact that this event took place a full 18 month behind schedule, the world was spell bound as this historic flight happened. The A380 is the biggest jetliner in the world, it is as tall as a seven storey building! As we look at this historic moment, it is important to go back 101 years into the past and look at the beginning of aviation. The Wright brothers were the first to build a flying machine that could fly. As they were doing it, they were met with a lot of skepticism from the people of their time. The New York Herald of 10 February 1906 will give a clear picture of the challenges they faced.

“The Wrights have flown or they have not flown. They possess a machine or they do not possess one. They are in fact either fliers or liars. It is difficult to fly. It is easy to say, ‘We have flown.’"

New York Herald February 10, 1906

There is nothing that is impossible for the one who believes

What appears to be impossible today if challenged can be changed and it will transform future generations. When it looks like it can't be done what is needed is someone who will not see the "im" on the word impossible! Within each of us are keys that can unlock ancient boundaries and destroy ancient limits. We can change destinies through a disrespect of the things that are regarded impossible. The A380 has a maximum take off weight of 560 tonnes! 100 hundred years ago one would have been killed for proposing that such a big plane could fly.

Leong Lou Teck

I was so fascinated by the first commercial flight of the A380 and I wanted to have a preview of some of the passengers that were there and one particular passenger challenged me. His name is Leong Lou Teck. What separates him from the rest of the people that were in the flight is that he is 91 years old. He was born in 1916, one of the Wright brothers was still alive when he was born.

At 91 others are sitting in their retirement homes and waiting to die but not Leong Lou Teck. For him there is still history to be made and another adventure to be embarked on. He is a possibility thinker. Age is just a number, what is inside you will cause you to conquer the things that man in his limited thinking crowned impossible.

Delay does not mean denial

It was not an easy thing for the Airbus team to get to today, an 18 month delay can mean the end of the company. There were threats of order cancellations and there were penalties but they stayed on it. They believed in what they were doing and they knew that if they remained focused, though delayed, they would make history. In life, there might be a delay but it is imperative that you refuse to give up. Possibility thinkers will disregard the challenge of instant gratification! Lasting fame is a result of hard work and a few setbacks along the way.

It does not matter who you are- you are set up for greatness

The seed of greatness is inside of you. You must plant it in the right environment and it will blossom and flourish. Refuse to be limited by thinking small, search deep inside of you and bring out that greatness. As you face challenges today in your job, business, personal life, family etc you must develop a new way of thinking! Rebel against the word impossible and you will see the impossible made possible.
