The Philosopher's stone is a mythical rock made from the transmutation of gold, silver and mercury. The stone supposedly holds the power to heal all injuries and sicknesses of the human body and transmutate any base metal (a metal that is not gold or slver) into any noble metal (gold and silver).

Historically, there is only one person who has succesfully created a philosopher's stone, his name was Nicolas Flamel.

to create a Philosopher's stone, you have to go through a process known as The Great Works. The steps of this are: 1. calcination, 2. congelation, 3. fixation, 4. solution, 5. digestion, 6. distilation, 7. sublimation, 8. seperation, 9. ceration, 10. fermentation, 11. multiplication and 12. projection.

calcination= heating in air

congelation=the conversition of a thin, flowing liquid into a thick liquid, often done with heat

fixation=the making of a volatile element into a non volatile element that is un-afected by fire

The Three ingredients that are common to all attempts by Alchemists are slver, quicksilver and gold. The majority of reported attempts have been with the use of sulphur as well. prcise amounts and true ingredients to making this, only Flammel knew.

Historically, there are zero people who have succesfully created a philosopher's stone, and there is no evidence that such a stone has ever or will ever exist.
Any philosopher's stone that could turn base metals into gold would necessarily involve nuclear reactions and any gold produced would likely be radioactive!

That is correct, this is only reported to be true because a person about 100 years after Flamel's reported death came forward in a bar and proclaimed himself to be Flamel.  (The Philosopher's stone can also prolong life).
