"How do I make my lashes look as full as possible?"
The key to fat lashes is layering without clumping. Just dip your mascara wand in the tube once, and make sure you scrape off any excess globs of goo before you apply it to your lashes. The best way to apply mascara is to place the wand against your lashline (at the root) and wiggle the wand in a very slight back and forth motion as you bring it up and out. This will allow the lashes to sink into the wand and be combed over with product.
More on the thickest lashes possible:
1. Curl lashes. Start at the base and "walk" the curler out, giving little squeezes until you've almost reached the end.
2. Use a lash primer before applying your mascara. Mascara will go on smoother, and your lashes won't stick together. Lots of brands have recently started packaging primer with mascaras the primer is usually white.
3. Dust lashes with translucent powder, and then …
4. Apply on your regular mascara* using the back-and-forth wriggle motion described above. If you want to apply more than one coat, do it before the first coat dries or you'll wind up with those scraggly crunchy-looking lashes.
5. But why stop there? White eyeshadow on your upper lid will make your lovely lashes really stand out. Try MESS Loose Eyeshadow in Pearl Street or MESS Pressed Eyeshadow in Orchard Street. Va-va-voom!
*Wait a second, you say. I'm bored of my regular mascara! What a coincidence, we are too! To remedy lash ennui, see the Glam Lashes tip in our "Make it Yourself" tips section.
Extra-Special Secret Tip: How to Prime Lashes on the SlyHere's a tip for killer lashes if you don't have any primer around: Wet your finger with regular water and moisten your lashes in the same direction that you would put on mascara. Curl them while they're still wet. Wait for lashes to dry completely then apply mascara.
Water = drinking, bathing, putting out fires, and eyelash curling. Who knew?
