"My eyes are big and bulge out / My eyes are small and deep-set. What can I do?"

We all know the affect that black and white can have on spatial perception. For example, paint a room black and it will seem smaller than the same room painted white. The same theory applies to makeup – you should apply light highlights to emphasize and dark shades to minimize.

If you pay close attention to the makeup of television personalities, particularly newscasters (who use eye contact to engage their audience), you will see this trick employed all the time.

1. Make prominent eyeballs sexier by lining your inner lids with black or brown eye pencil. Line both the top and the bottom.

2. Follow with an application of dark eyeshadows to your lids. Conversely, make small eyes appear bigger like this: 1b. Line inner lids with a nude-colored or white eye pencil. 2b. Follow with light, luminous shades of eyeshadow on your lids. *Be sure to use a soft eye pencil, never a liquid liner when lining your inner lids.

Its vague but not completely useless. Use light colours on smaller eyes and darker shades for bigger eyes. Duh.
