When you're trying to save money, refilling an inkjet cartridge can be a good start. Just follow the instructions that came with your printer refill kit, and you'll be printing again quickly.
Most inkjet printer refills work in basically the same way, with a few minor adjustments to fit the cartridge you are working with. When you've done it a few times, refilling inkjet cartridges is quite simple.
First, find a spot to work in, preferably close to a sink. Prepare your work area by spreading paper towels over a large area, and make sure you have everything you need within reach before you start.
Before you put on the latex gloves that come with the printer refill kit, you'll need to attach the needle to the syringe. If you are refilling different colors, use a different syringe for each color.
Now that you've protected your workspace and attached the needle, it's time to protect your skin by putting on the latex gloves. This can make it a little hard to work, but it's an even harder task to try to get ink out of your skin.
Slowly begin to draw ink into the syringe. Only fill it to the fill line marked on the syringe.
Hold the cartridge either over the sink or paper towels and inject the ink into the cartridge slowly. Pushing the syringe's plunger down too fast could result in a leaky mess all over.
When you're done refilling the cartridge, wipe up any excess ink from the cartridge and check for any leaks.
Clean your work by throwing away the paper towels and cleaning any spilled ink with a little water. You can store the unused ink for future use, but make sure it is sealed tightly.
Most people won't deal with the potential mess of refilling inkjet cartridges, but it gives you a great opportunity to save money by using inkjet printer refills. Although it is convenient to refill your cartridges, after a time you will need to replace them anyway. If you do a lot of printing, you could save a lot of money over the course of a year.
