I’m sure that most, if not all, of you have heard of the world governance and world taxation advocates who are sneaking around and trying to push those and other agendas into acceptance under subterfuge of being something else. I have read about it and read about it and still do not understand just what is going on. I do know that some in the United Nations Organization are trying to levy world wide taxation to build roads and highways and help third world countries and so on. But folks that will not work…at all. It is not that I am opposed to helping the needy people in foreign lands or anywhere else, but you will never see me in agreement to do anything through the United Nations. Their ineptness and anti-American bias along with their thieving and underhanded activities. They would happily tax the U.S. into oblivion with none of the income ever reaching the needy people.

But today, I read an article in Fox News (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,312577,00.html) entitled “New Worldwide Toilet Organization Promises 'Toilet Revolution"!! and by reading it I learn there are actually 2 World Toilet Organizations. All proposing that the affluent nations raise enough money to build modern toilets for all. Read this:

“To the celebratory rhythms of a percussionist beating on toilets, dozens of government delegates and U.N. representatives began two days of discussions on improving bathroom facilities for the 2.6 billion people worldwide who lack access to proper restrooms."

I would never argue that this is not a needed thing. But again, not through the U.N. Can you imagine the cost of building a modern bathroom for 2.6 billion people, most of whom would not have indoor water to begin with. Most of whom would not even have access to piped in water. Most of whom would have a $30,000 toilet in a $400 house. Not to forget the fact that 90% of the funds would go to engineering and planning people now earning $200,000 and up. They would mount the toilet over a hole in the ground as some now have only a hole in the ground with a board over it…some inside their house. There is no question, these people need help, desperately, but the toilet is not the place to start. We have people right here in the U.S. now who have no indoor plumbing. How much more do you think there is in the under developed nations.

A point that we can start to think about, is where would you start and where would you leave off? The very ones who need them most would be the ones in places so remote that it would not be possible to build them modern facilities. Some whose water supply is a cistern or a muddy, filthy stream. Some would have to be relocated to bring into proper conditions.

Dr. Shigeru Omi, director of the World Health Organization in the western Pacific, says that there are 1.8 million people who die from inadequate sanitation related diseases annually. I’m surprised. Surprised that the figure is not much higher. And others say, from where I do not know, that this would cost “some $10 billion" dollars per year. Now, if anyone believes that I have some huge bridges I would love to sell you. That is less than $4.00 per person.

You see, there is now The World Toilet Organization started by a fellow in Singapore and there is the World Toilet Association founded and based in South Korea. These organizations have member countries with people making plans and investigations. How much do you think the cost of them is at present? I don’t know the answer, but it has to be a lot. Let’s read another paragraph from the article to see the enthusiasm behind this movement:

South Korea has sought to establish a "toilet culture" to improve restroom facilities for hosting international events. It now holds annual contests to select the most pleasant facilities. Photos of winning restrooms displayed at the conference included lavatories featuring abundant natural light and plants, a boat-shaped building in the city of Ansan and the bathrooms on a South Korean naval ship.

"The toilet is directly linked to sanitation and hygiene of human beings as well as the improvement of the quality of their lives," South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo told the conference

Just how profound can one statement be? I say one more time, I have no opposition to helping the needy but when I do personally donate to any charity, I know ahead of time what percentage of my gift will reach the persons for which it was intended. There are few organized charities which can be trusted to highly support the organization they claim to. I receive letters through the mail from various organizations whose names sound as if they are the precise organization for which they are asking for support. They come with a sheet of really nice return address labels.

I cannot say all of those are phony, but I have seen financial statistics on some of them showing that the organization you wish to help, receives something like 3 or 4 percent. In other words, 3 or 4 cents out of each dollar you donate. With an organization such as the United Nations, I cannot conceive of even that percentage going into actual toilets for the really needy. I say it would be flushed down the drain. Toilets should be built in these poor countries and poor areas, but I do feel they should be housed, fed, clothed and educated before helping to build inoperable toilets.
