In the world of self defense products, products that stun an attacker, such as stun guns and stun batons, are popular. The reason for their popularity is twofold. First, it does not take must practice or skill to learn how to use one of these personal protection devices. Second, they do not permanently injure the attacker. Instead, they render him unable to function for a short period of time, long enough for the person using them to escape.

There are certain benefits to using stun batons over stun guns. Stun guns have problems with range. The traditional model can only be used in close proximity to the attacker. Sometimes if you are close enough to the attacker to use a stun gun, your attacker may be able to disarm you. Stun guns that propel their charges, such as tasers, can only be used once, so if you miss, you will not be protected. Stun batons, on the other hand, increase the range in which you can use them. Since they have a longer reach, you do not have to be as close to your attacker as you would need to be to use a traditional stun gun. Also, these self defense weapons can be used more than once.

However, a stun baton can be cumbersome to carry as a self defense product. A newer type of stun baton that has developed a way around this problem is a telescopic stun baton. When not in use, a telescopic stun baton is about the size of a flashlight. In fact, many models have a flashlight mounted to the top of them. Telescopic stun batons are around a foot long when they are not in use. However, when you face an attack situation, you can quickly extend the stun baton to its full length, which is typically over 20 inches. This gives you enough room that you can put some space between you and your attacker, while still delivering the stun and disarming the attacker long enough to escape. On these stun batons, the whole metal arm is electrified, which means that the attacker will be stunned if he tries to grab the device.

Another benefit of these products is the fact that they usually come with an alarm. With a stun alarm baton, you can alert others to your danger with the push of a button. Often sounding an alarm is all that is needed to scare away an attacker. If nothing else, stun alarm batons will help those in the vicinity find you if you are in danger.

Perhaps you are wondering if these products are difficult to use. Rest assured that you will have no trouble learning how to use a telescopic stun baton. They come with a holder that you can clip to your belt, and if you are attacked, you simply have to push one button to extend and charge the stun baton. If you purchase a stun alarm baton, one button is all it takes to sound the alarm. When the attack is over and you are safe, one button retracts the device so you can put it back in its holder. It can be used again as long as the batteries stay charged.

If you are frequently in situations where you feel that you are in danger, consider investing some money in good self defense products like telescopic stun batons or stun alarm batons. Not only will it provide you with peace of mind, but you will also have invaluable tools to use if you are someday attacked. While we hope never to have to use self defense products, having them on hand could mean the difference between life and death in an attack situation.

Maybe you prefer the larger and more powerful telescopic stun baton . Check out our other models of stun batons .
