Once again my apologies for elaborating on the same topics. I will no longer bring it up since I have discovered that in order for anything to change people must first,

CARE- yes care about others and their plight. Care about changing the negatives, Care about what is happening to our nation and in our nation to people of all walks of life and yes, in the world.

COMPASSION is the next element.  Many have apathy and ask, "what can I do, nothing will ever change", "I really don't want to hear or think about it", and "I have enough problems of my own to worry about'. So while we may have empathy many to most do little to nothing and allow the negatives to continue.

UNDERSTANDING is the next important element. We must understand the dreadful deeds and circumstances that are fostered upon people which drives them to despair, destruction, the brink of disaster, financial ruin, drugs, alcohol, suicide and all the other negatives of this world. While many say "it is of their own doing", or "what can I, or for that matter anyone do", or "they brought it upon themselves", there are many factors that brought these persons to their current circumstances and really the truth is, there but for the grace of God go I.

LOVE, yes that one key element that really can eliminate and stop it all and yes change it all. Yes that one key element religious of every faith talk a lot about, espouse a lot, but sadly apply it in limited fashion, usually to family and close friends only. The rest, unfortunately, the word that best describes this current century, dole out whatever doses they want to give as appropriate for the circumstances at hand and who they wish to apply it to. Yes, even while they espouse how good and caring they are.

So my good people you need not hear again on this or any topic because my answer has been received. Yes, even though God Himself says this is the greatest commandment, the key words for God are neighbor, stranger, those we don't know.

So the heartaches of many shows in their depression, anger, guilt, remorse, doubt. It shows in those who do care, because in reality little to nothing ever changes and although some try it stays the same. Yes, it shows in the dependency of priests, ministers, nuns and other religious and caring people who fall upon alcohol and other remedies because the problems they face are literally overwhelming to the human spirit and they know, actually know the uncaring sinfulness of man.

Certainly we all know there are many charitable, caring, understanding and loving people and agencies trying hard and many, especially at this time of year are overtaxed to stem the tide which is growing with each passing day. They are the ones who plug the dam and hold back the flood. Is that flood coming soon?

However, the message does not go out to them. It goes to all the rest who just go through the motions and talk the good talk. Yes, the lack of Caring, Compassion, Understanding and the last, but certainly not the least, Love that, if they could only awaken to,  is the answer as I stated above to many problems.

Well those who care say we must continue to try? Of course, that is not the point.  However, unless those who are on the sidelines decide to write, call, E-mail, Vote and find every single avenue to express our displeasure for the lack of help for our fellow human beings nothing will change. To let those who can make a difference know that we Care, we have Compassion, we Understand and we Love regardless if people brought the problem upon themselves, or were just plain abused and exploited.

So enough said. Because if all Christ has written did not give food for thought to believers, or those who profess Him, or move them to action, or stimulate them, to change, it just never will!

Robert, your first paragraph powerfully states it all: "...I have discovered that in order for anything to change people must first..." Yes, for change to occur, we must change -- sorta like that song, "Let It Begin With Me." -- Thanks for a good article!
