Are you aware of the TRUE Genesis story as revealed in the Bible? Did you know that God did not punish Adam and Eve? ...that he protected them and sorrowed for them? Ohh, certainly, they disobeyed his command not to eat of “the tree of knowledge of good and evil", and he did banish them from Eden with the warning that they would live in sorrow all the days of their lives, but that was not God’s punishment, it was....., but we are getting ahead of the story, so let’s start at the beginning.
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" ...and blessed each of his creations. And when he was done, “God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Then, “the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden and there he put the man [and woman] whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil."
“And the Lord God commanded the man [Adam], saying ‘of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it...’" From these words, it is obvious that God did not want his creations to live by the fruits of good and evil judgements. But, as the story continues, Eve was tempted by the snake, she enticed Adam, and together they ate from the tree of good and evil.
And when God discovered what they had done, he declared sadly, “In sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life," for it distressed him to know that henceforth they would mistakenly see and judge everything in his universe of all goodness according to good and evil, ...which would bring them constant sorrow.
Obviously, God’s not wanting Adam and Eve to live in sorrowful judgements was why he commanded them not to eat the fruits of good and evil but, having done so, and then living the sorrowful consequences of shame, God had no choice but to protect Adam and Eve–as a loving father would protect his children–by banishing them from his garden of all goodness ,...from His heaven on earth. But, even in that, God did not prevent Adam and Eve from returning to the garden of all goodness on earth, for he only “placed cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep [protect] the way of the tree of life," so Adam and Eve, while living by the fruits of good and evil judgements, could not eat from “the tree of life", ...which would have kept them in the sorrow of good/evil judgements for ever.
God’s banishing Adam and Eve from the garden of all goodness and his protection of the tree of life was not punishment for disobedience, for that retribution was self-inflicted every day as Adam and Eve continued living their lives of judgement and sorrow ...and taught Cain and Abel to live by those same fruits. God was protecting them from an everlasting life of sorrow through judgement.
From this point on, the Bible only portrays the desperate struggle and sorrow of living by the fruits of good/evil judgements ...but seeing, understanding, and living the goodness of all things, as they were created and exist today, without any judgements, frees you to live again in the heavenly garden of all goodness on earth ...or will you continue your self-imposed exile and sorrow ...and live your life of judgement “as usual"?
Well, you certainly know what that is like, ...don’t you? And if you choose your life and judgements “as usual", ...angels will weep for you.
