The cabbage soup recipe weight loss plan has been around for about thirty years and is known by various names including the Mayo Clinic Diet, TJ's Miracle Diet and the Banana Diet. A key feature of the diet is unlimited consumption of cabbage soup.  Over seven days you eat a specific type of food on each of the seven days plus all the soup you want.  The promise of the diet is you'll lose 10 pounds in seven days.

Is it possible to lose ten pounds in seven days following this diet?  It surely is and I've done it.  It's actually fairly easy to do this.  No way are you starving yourself, since you get plenty of food to eat each day and the foods eaten vary from day to day. But this is a short term diet and you must change the way you eat and your lifestyle to get weight off and keep it off. 

There's a lot to be said for quick weight loss.  If you're sick and tired of the shape you're in and determined to change, dropping a quick ten pounds may be just the motivation you need.  Long term fat loss and fitness improvement takes effort over a period of time.  Motivation and determination is a big part of getting where you need to be.  This weight loss plan may be just the quick start to a lifestyle change that will totally alter your health and fitness. There are no special foods to buy and no fees to pay.  It's not bad at all.

Now if you lose ten pounds in seven days, it's not going to be all fat loss.  Some will be water loss, but some will be fat.  And this seven days is just a start.  Determine to learn how to eat long term and learn how to exercise to turn your body into a fat burning machine.  This cabbage soup recipe weight loss can be the first step to getting in the best shape you've been in for years.

You'll be eating fruits, vegetables, and meat plus all the soup you want.  But you eat certain foods only on certain days.  You do get a good variety of choices so there's no boredom.  And remember it's only a seven day plan so even if it was unpleasant, it's only for a few days.  And it's not unpleasant.  Why on one day you can eat all the bananas you want plus drink milk.  Not bad.

The down side is no cookies or brownies.  You can't even eat chocolate pie or peanut butter sandwiches.  After all it is a diet plan!
