The following recipe was given to me by a friend many years ago. I don't know the origin of this recipe, or I most certainly would give credit to it's creator. I do know, however, that it's been passed around for as long as I can recall; most everyone I've given it to uses it every year! We hope you enjoy these cookies as much as we do! P.S. If anyone DOES know who created this recipe, I'd be happy to know!
Christmas Cookies Recipe~
1 cup water
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup brown sugar
lemon juice
4 large eggs
1 cup nuts (optional)
2 cups dried fruit of your choice (I use craisins)
1 bottle Bailey's Irish Cream
Sample Bailey's Irish Cream to check quality.
Take a large bowl, check the Bailey's again to be sure it is of the highest quality;
pour one level cup and drink.
Turn on electric mixer; beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl.
Add 1 tsp. sugar; beat again.
At this point, it's best to make sure the Bailey's still okay. Try another cup, just in case.
Turn off the mixerer thingy.
Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit; pick up the fruit off the floor.
Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose w
ith a drewscriver.
Sample the Bailey's for tonsisticity.
Next, sift 2 cups of salt or something; who giveshz a sheet. Check the Bailey's.
Now shift the lemon juice and strain the nuts. Add one table.
Add a spoon of sugar or somefink. Whatever you can find.
Grease the oven.
Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner.
Finally, throw the bowl through the window, finish the Bailey's and make sure to put the stove in the dishwasher.
