A child born in humble surroundings

Nurtured to manhood with his father's blessings

God's love for the world - lay in his son the savior

Who would show us the way through his holy behavior

He preached of peace and love and a world united

Speaking not only to a few - for all were invited

Miracles were performed such as raising the dead, -

And restoring sight to the blind

He was truly sent to deliver from evil,- all of humankind

Jesus never had a college education, never traveled far

From home

However, today churches are built with him as their

Cornerstone

From his humble beginnings - born in a manger, - in a stable

To his horrible death on the cross - for a world so unstable

Whatever religion one might practice and believe in

If a religion teaches love - the Lord resides within

Through the son of God which brought about Christianity

Although he made it clear - he was sent for all of humanity

Thank you Susan, there are different types of poems such as: free verse or other types. I like poems that rhyme. I only began writing poems about two years ago. they're really not that hard. You can easily get a rhyme zone from the web which will enable you two find words to rhyme easy.
