This past year while taking a college level course, I was required to somehow send video of some speeches to my professor. I went online and found a nice, but inexpensive video to usb adapter that allowed me to transfer movies from my video camera to my computer. This is one way that you can also allow your computer to tune in to television stations. There is another way that I will discuss with you also. During the time I spent setting up this elaborate system to tune in television to my computer, I learned many things, and hopefully can help you to learn my experience.
As I setup the TV tuner usb adapter that I had purchased, (I will provide you a link to that tuner below) I ran some cabling under my house to my living room, where my satellite box is stationed. I made a little compromise, as my box is set up to control tv for 2 rooms in my house. When I want to watch satellite in my office, I just steal the remote from my bedroom and use it at the computer. After a little trip through my crawlspace of my house, I had the cable in place, and was able to hook everything together. This has allowed me to watch the satellite tv in my home office, and is very handy.
The other type of television that I wanted to discuss with you was the type that can be streamed over the internet to your computer. There are a few good services out there that allow you to do this, and I will try to provide you some links to them in my author bio box. These services are great, and are 100% legal. This eliminates the hassle of running cables and buying boxes, as I had already done for myself. Another great thing about this method is that you can receive many more channels, and some software even lets you receive radio stations as well. Where I am able to receive approximately 120 channels from my tv tuner card, the online service allows me to tune in to up to 4000 channels!
