So here we are, it's Christmas day,
No work, no jobs and yes no pay.
Some went off to war and to die.
Some parents this day will suffer and cry.
Misery everywhere and even more.
The knock of the greedy for more at your door.
Oh sure they profess a belief in God too.
But His commands they do not do.

So here we are, it's Christmas day.
Is there anything else one can say?
Oh sure, believers celebrate Christ's birth.
While the whores and wolfs widen their girth.
Their tone and inflection say they want more.
They get fat on the sorrows and hurt of the poor.
We'll make arrangements, but pay or else.
Their attitude bristles of only themself.

So here we are, it's Christmas day.
I feel an urge that I should pray.
For those who profess but are not what they say.
For the merchant who charges 31% and more.
For those who placed you at Bankruptcy's door.
What happened to morality, religious don't say a thing.
For those exploited, or profit and Bling.
For politicians whose soul must be cold as ice?
For all those who don't know how to be nice.

So here we are, it's Christmas day.
Lets remember we are, what we say?
This world is rotten that we all know.
But mercy is what we have to show.
So for all those suffering this Christmas day.
Like many others, in varied ways.
A loved one dying, a child lost in war.
A young girl forced to become the whore.
And all the rest who make woe and strife.
Yes, pray also for their eternal life.

So here we are, it's Christmas day.
Pray hard for them, they have lost their way.
Forgive them, yet they know what they do.
Because on this morning our answer came through.
The birth of a Child, Emmanuel His name.
The King of Mercy and Love His fame.
And that is our hope, what we must seek.
This world He gives, to the humble and meek.

So here we are, it's Christmas day.
Turn off the phone, put your troubles away.
Love them that love you, in a Christmas way.
Don't let the miserable ruin your day.
Enjoy the peace of Christmas this way.
Spread peace and Love to all I say.
Now here is my wish we all should do
Merry Christmas to all and may God Bless You!

hi robert,
well, you must know this is a wonderful poem. it has all the great elements, and uses words that to me, are brilliant. i don't like the whore part, but that's just me, i have to accept reality even when it slaps me in the face. your ideals are well spoken, and in ryhme! and a lot of them. amazing to me. intricate and brilliant.
but no more whores:)
best regards,
sue

Sue, it was not intended to offend so in that regard I do apologize. I myself do not know if brilliant is definative but I do appreciate your kindness and your comment coming from someone as yourself. As for this word you dislike, I am sure you understand that the word is used in the Bible to describe bad [like ancient Babylon] and I used it in that contect in my other articles to accentuate how corrupt people can become of their own desire. It does not relate to anyone forced into prostitution for varied reasons. No, it is that which people do, that they enjoy doing and that they do deliberately doing for their own ends. In the poem it speaks to the person forced into the act of selling themselves by evil people. I have found with many of the readers strong words are needed to shock people into reality and to think about the intent of the message. God Bless and all the very best, as usual RTM!. God Bless

hi robert,
talking about being shocked into reality, 2007 will go down in history for that for me:) i still think your words and their positioning, were brilliant.
i admire people who can do what you did with this poem.
keep writing and keeping us on our toes,
best regards,
sue

Sue, you have demonstrated just how successful and intelligent you. Just one aspect, the following you have developed by your writing demonstrated as a sign and symbol of your ability. So out of the bad, the trials, the tears and the fire came a rebirth or I should say a new recognition of how really special you are in Gods creation. No one like you in the entire Universe. [A scientific fact] wow, more powerful then Wonder Woman. Tthat more of your young should know! One again, thanks for the kindness, all the best RTM.

Thanks Sue. AFter reading it more myself I feel it appropriate for every day. It is the wolrd we live in today. YOu know Sue I write as I am prompted to. The messages all are based around God, morality and who we say we are and in what we do and what we fail to do. The sum of it is choice as it always is. We can do good work or we can go with the world. Yes what is money it is a piece of paper whose value rises and falls with the wind. Rich one minute poor the next. God Bless Sue and keep smiling and hug all thsoe you love each time you see them and of course that little doggie who's love for you is pure! RTM
