There are many manufactures fighting for your business when it comes to buying a new refrigerator. It's no longer just about choosing a color!

Our refrigerator guide will help you decide which one will provide for your needs. First thing to consider is the size you need. How many people will the refrigerator be serving and what is the size of the room where it will be placed?

Measure the space, height and depth where the fridge will be placed. Remember take into account the cabinet which often goes above the refrigerator. Many times the people forget to consider the depth of where the machine will go make sure you note the depth of the space where you would like to put the appliance.

Next you need to choose style which fits into your kitchen. There are a variety of styles to choose from. You can have the freezer on top, at the bottom, side by side or the French door style. Your choice will determine what you use it for. If you need to store many platters then the French door style would work the best.

While you're buying your refrigerator take the time to consider what accessories you may want. You can get anything from build it televisions or a more practical add on such as an ice maker it's possible even to get an indoor water and ice maker.

Pricing is often times a factor when it comes to making a large household purchase such as a new refrigerator. Pricing can run the gamut your basic models start around $300 and when you get up to your larger more deluxe models, like a sub-zero you can expect to pay near the $10,000 mark. The good thing is many stores like Best Buy or Lowes offer "same as cash" financing when you use their credit cards.

When you are shopping you should also consider whether to buy an energy efficient refrigerator. These will help lower your energy cost saving you money on your electric bill each month. A true energy efficient refrigerator will be Energy Star qualified and often times have the "Good House Keeping" seal of approval on it.

Another thing to use as a determining factor is what type of Warranty is offered? With a trusted brand name like Kenmore or Whirlpool you know that these companies have been in business for a long time and that they stand behind their products. Most manufactures give you the ability to purchase an extended warranty plan after the standard one year warranty expires.
