It takes a lot of patience to browse the web with a slow Internet Explorer. Personally I don't have this patience. Hence, I've searched for ways that will speed up my slow Internet Explorer. If you don't have the patience either, this article might just solve your problem.

To resolve the issue of having a slow Internet Explorer we will do the easiest and quickest fixes first. That way we can check if this will already solve our problem without wasting a lot of time.

First Steps to speed up your slow Internet Explorer
Before doing anything else, clean out the cache, temporary files, and history. You can do this by clicking on "tools" and then "Internet Options"(IE6). If you have Internet Explorer 7, click on "tools" and then "Delete Browsing History". This simple step might already speed up your slow Internet Explorer.

Wrong Lan Settings:
Make sure that you are not using a proxy server that slows down your browser. Click on "Tools" and then click on "Internet Options". Next, click on "Connections" and then "Lan Settings". Make sure that all three options are unchecked. If this is the case you are not using a proxy server. Do you still have a slow Internet Explorer? Move on to the next step.

Google Toolbar:
If you have just installed Google toolbar and all of a sudden you have a very slow Internet Explorer, it is most likely the Page Rank feature that causes your Internet Explorer to run very slow. Click on "Settings" and then "Options" in the toolbar menu and disable "Page Rank info". If your browser speeds up again after disabling the Page Rank feature, leave it that way. If you still have a slow Internet Explorer, you can turn the Page Rank feature back on.

Many websites require certain add-ons such as ActiveX controls in order to enhance your browsing experience. However, some add-ons might cause a slow Internet Explorer. In case you are working with Internet Explorer 7, check if it runs faster in the "No Add-Ons" mode. Click Start and then Search for "Internet Explorer". In the results, click on Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons) to run Internet Explorer without any add-ons. Now check if you still have a slow Internet Explorer or if it is better.

Quick and Easy – Fixing your slow Internet Explorer automatically
It could always be the case that your Internet Explorer is running slow because it causes errors. Use a system utility tool that scans, diagnoses, and fixes your Windows system. I personally use Errorsmart which repairs Internet Explorer errors automatically. You can download a free version at http://www.SpeedUpMyPC.Info.

The Internet is a whole different experience when you are browsing the web with a fast browser and don't have to deal with a slow Internet Explorer. And if worst comes to worst, switch to Firefox!

One of the most significant ways to speed up Internet Explorer, now... is to go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced... and UNcheck "Enable third-party browser extensions". THIS WILL DISABLE -all- 'extra' TOOLBARS, etc. in Internet Explorer. You'll be surprised at how fast IE becomes. I've also unchecked all the other 'Enable...' items in the 'Browsing' section of 'Advanced' tab.

My IE 7.0 suddenly started to go extremely slow (at least 10 seconds to open a new window or tab). I thought I had to upgrade to IE 8.0 and did so yesterday, but the problem was still there. Then I follwed the advice here, also this: "One of the most significant ways to speed up Internet Explorer, now... is to go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced... and UNcheck "Enable third-party browser extensions". THIS WILL DISABLE -all- 'extra' TOOLBARS, etc. in Internet Explorer. You'll be surprised at how fast IE becomes. I've also unchecked all the other 'Enable...' items in the 'Browsing' section of 'Advanced' tab."...

AND NOW EVERYTHING WORKS AS IF MY COMPUTER WAS BRAND NEW! Thanks you for helping me out guys :)
