Please forgive me because I feel the need to rant right now.
There is a pastor friend of my husband's who was just fired this
morning. The people in her church did not want to hear the Word of God.
They complained constantly and did not want to hear what they needed to
hear. They wanted a feel-good gospel and she was fired because she
stood on Truth.
What is wrong with this picture? I know that at one time I was
deceived into creating my own god and only listening to what I wanted
to hear. So, I understand where they are coming from, but now that I
have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I am dumbfounded.
It is fitting to note that the sermon that we heard in our church
this morning was called, "God Prevails". Pastor Glen talked about
carnally-minded people and how they will reject God's Word. He
mentioned that "Appearances can look deceiving." Yeah…you got that
right.
The enemy is very deceiving and very cunning. He knows the
weaknesses of every single person on this earth and he tries to use
that to his advantage. I don't want to give the whole sermon of what
our pastor brought to us here, but he also said that "Man will try to
build their own church." Which essentially means, carnally-minded
people will only listen to what their "itching ears" wants to hear.
Anything that is in reference to our Holy God in heaven, and they are
gone…or they fire the preacher..as in this case.
How sad is this? This is one of the reasons why we need to continue
in the fight. We are not fighting against flesh and blood but against
the evil principalities of this world. The enemy wants to win over God,
but he knows of his upcoming demise! God will prevail! God always has
the last word and Satan knows it. That is why he is after so many
people.
We all know that the world is getting worse and worse. We know that
the end is near…that the Lord will be returning soon and what a
glorious day that will be! Praise be to God Almighty! |
