The rules and guidelines for writing articles seem to have changed. The big boys in the world of article marketing are becoming far more stringent when deciding which articles to accept in their directories. This of course can only be a good thing; there are a lot of poor articles out there which give article marketing a bad name, there are also a lot of private label articles which are still slipping through the net. While I agree in the most part with these tougher acceptance rules, in some instances they are taking things a step too far. In this article I will be writing about my experiences in attempting to have an article accepted into ezinearticles.
I wrote an article about obesity and submitted it to ezinearticles, within twenty-four hours it came back as a problem resolution; they stated that the promotional content was too high. How could this be possible? The article is about obesity and the links at the bottom of the article are pointing to sites about stuttering!
I personally believe that ezinearticles are the best article directory and they are very good at customer service, authors can easily gain feedback from their editors via a contact e-mail service. I decided to e-mail them for an explanation as to why the promotional content was too high etc.
I quickly had a response from a lady called Abby. I have dealt with this person before and she has been very helpful and has been happy and willing to reverse earlier negative decisions. This was here reply on this occasion:
Hi Steve,
Thank you for your email.
The reason your article is too promotional is because of this
paragraph:
"My name is Steve Hill, I used to be obese and from the UK . In this
article I will describe my journey from being fat to thin. I hope the
contents of the article will help and inspire other people to lose
weight."
Please edit this and resubmit the article for further editorial
review.
To which I have replied:
Hi Abby,
Thank you for your reply.
Surely a reader of the article will be inspired that somebody has overcome obesity and is therefore more likely to gain from the example of the author. Obesity is a huge problem and articles like this can only be of help. People will not take it seriously unless there is a live example.
I am not offering any form of diet, fitness aid or weight loss program so therefore am not attempting to promote anything. How can it be too promotional when I am not promoting anything?
I personally feel that you are being a bit harsh with your comments, there are so many plr articles still being accepted at ezinearticles, this should be the focus rather than picking on the old established authors!
I will let you know the outcome of this ongoing saga shortly. If you have an article which comes back as problem resolution but which you strongly believe was within the guidelines, I would recommend you contact the editorial team, they are getting tough but they are also approachable and happy to discuss the matter.
