Ever notice how some people go through life complaining how the world deals them so much hardship and "bad luck" and it's always the other guy that has all the fun ? How life is unfair and though they try and do the right thing and be good people they still end up with the short end of the stick.
We even have books written about how hardship makes us better if we search for the truth and how to turn our life around with this technique or that method. Then there's my favorite title "Why bad things happen to good people."
Well, the key could be in that very first sentence, "they go through life." The majority of people I've spoken to on this topic never cease to amaze me at how they can't figure out why, as they trip merrily through life as though it was a board game, they end up in bad relationships, unfulfilling jobs, or just over-all crappy situations.
Let me throw something out here and you tell me if it's true or not. " Most people spend more time planning a two week vacation , than they do their life."
Think about it, if your going on a two week vacation somewhere, first off you know where your going, you've made reservations for once you get there, you've not only packed but you went shopping to make sure you have everything you think your going to need. You totally planned out how your going to get there and you may have even made arrangements for things to do once you've arrived. Not to mention, you've also mapped out the reverse order on how to get back!
Oh, I understand it's not easy, we even come up with catchy phrases like " Life is what happens while we're busy making plans." and then there was Doris Day's " Que Sera Sera" which I think spelled backwards means "to hell with it." either way, this isn't practice. One life - to do your best, so don't you think it deserves some serious sit down planning ?
And it's O.K. if along the way plans get changed. Even the nicest hotel can over book or you may get "bumped" from a flight in your life. What would you do on vacation ? Re-Adjust
The famous book "Think And Grow Rich" pointed out that ALL successful people, people that had achieved mighty goals in life, have certain things in common, one being they wrote down important things that needed to be done. Hey !! a lot like that packing list for our vacation.
