Fragrant Gifts for Valentines.. in a word, yum.

Toilette was originally used, in the Egyptian days, a mixture of floral scents, worn with the intention of attracting the opposite sex. In the 17 and 1800's perfume was used to mask the stench of not bathing, a cover up for body odors, that eventually grew into what today is known as Deodorant. But all through history, the human ritual of the chase, and romance, has always been linked to fragrance. A certain aroma creates the mark of who we are, and what we want to be remembered as, in the chase for love.

Fragrances are a mixture, or potion in just the right proportions, taken from the natures only natural perfumes, found in plants. Rose petals, violets, lilac, lavender, blossoms from trees, mixed with spices and other goodies to add flavour to either tone done or spice up the scent. Scent in ancient traditions were also used for aroma therapy, candles, creams, and healing agents.

The assortment of fragrances, are blended, and broken down into oils, liquid form, and creams, and have also been set into classifications, such as eau de toilette, eau de cologne, or eau de parfum. Depending on the classifications of designer labels, depends on the price of the perfume. When choosing the right fragrance for you, you really have to go to the boutique and try it for yourself. What fragrance smells divine on one woman, or cologne for a man, will smell differently on another. Never spray perfume all over your skin, directly on your neck, face, arms, or any spots that are exposed to the sun. They call them age spots, and they will not go away, and in time will get worse, if you continue to spray the scent on you while going out into the sun.

You can spray your clothes before you put them on, and of course there's always the cleavage area. And you guys thought we women put it there to get your attention? Nope. It's to keep our skin clear and free from brown spots when we get older. The evening sprays of course, has less of an alarm, and you can pretty much spray the perfume where ever you choose, as long as it's washed off by morning, when you're out and about. Guys, the same goes for you, and spreading that cologne all over you, if you feel you'd have enough freckles to make you handsome and don't want anymore, then don't put it on when you go out into the sun. There is a hint of alcohol based solution, or some other kind of evaporating substance in your colognes, and it evaporates and burns your skin when exposed to sunlight.

Yum, hay smell this one.. Mmm there are sooo many choices to make when looking for the right scent to suit you. When trying out the fragrances, ask for the coffee beans, and take a whiff of the beans in-between switching brands. The coffee takes your focus off the last scent, and then you are sure to be getting a clear vision on the new one. Guys if you are determined to buy a scent for your sweetheart, asking her what's her favourite might be the first step. If you want to surprise her, maybe you can figure out who her favourite star is, and check to see if they have a line of perfumes. Most big stars do, and although some aren't really that great in scent, she'll be excited to own something made by her favourite Celeb.

Same goes for you gals, buying something for him? You could ask him what he likes to wear, or get in tune if the scent he goes for is heavy and spicy, or light and barely noticeable. Then go shopping on your own, and when you give it to him, tell him this scent is the one that melts your knees. He'll be sure to be bathing in it in no time.

Perfume kits seem to always be the most practical way of purchasing perfume. Ask at the counter, to see what specials they have on for kits, and tell them what brand you are looking for. The gals will be happy to accommodate you, and some even make up the gift basket right there on the spot. There are perks to getting it in a gift package, sometimes you can get samples of the Designer's other lines, and sometimes it's for the opposite sex, so you both have the pleasure of matching. How romantic. Also the body creams aren't as strong as the liquid perfume and is safer to use in the daytime. Sometimes it's also just as, or a better deal when you buy it in a gift box, it would have cost you the same amount if you bought the bottle by it self.
