My Funny Valentine's Day Collection Articles, dedicated to You!

As Valentines Day approaches, we all feel the buzz of romance in the air. The sensation of love compels us to explore the many aspects of relationships, and feeling that special connection with our one true love, and celebrating our love on that one special day of the year, is a time honoured tradition through many different cultures.
Many of us celebrate our the anniversary of our wedding, the anniversary of when we first met our one true love, but Valentines Day, is one where we can share love, along with all the others. And it doesn't necessarily mean to be shared only with a lover, but a best friend, your kids, parents, favourite buddy. It's a day for love, and a day to celebrate and express love, to the ones you cherish.
What we see as a picture of love, over the centuries, has been painted by some famous love couples, historical love stories that are so powerful that we stand in awe of their strength, and we feel with them, their tragedy. Which usually goes hand in hand. What we want to know is how love conquered all. In reading the novels of romantic stories, or watching a movie about a love story between two very interesting and lovable people who overcome obstacles, and find their way together, or tragically stay apart, touches us, as we relate to the emotions they are feeling.
In watching a Romantic Movie, we become apart of something that's bigger than us. We intimately share the emotions and feelings that are developing between the couple, we route for their love, we feel sad with them, through their losses, and we feel satisfied, and happy when they finally are able to come together. There are so many countless wonderful movies about love, that one article just didn't seem enough, so here's a list of some of the most adored, and loved Romance movies of all time. Reese Whiterspoon and Joaquin Phoenix
The life story of legendary Johnny Cash. Reese, playing June Carter, and Phoenix playing John Wayne, beautifully depict the young couple, through their tragic and heartbreaking love story, where true love won out in the end, saving both their lives. This movie is so well written, and Reese and Joaquin have such great chemistry on the silver screen that they make you forget they are Reese and Joaquin, and you fall right into Johnny Cash, and June Carter, even if you never heard a Johnny Cash song before, you'll start to love him. A great movie for cuddling.
2. You Me and Dupree, 2006
Matt Dillon, Kate Hudson, Owen Wilson
Romantic Comedy, where Molly (Kate) and Carl (Matt) are having a rocky start to their marriage. A funky, cool, and smooth Dupree moves in with the couple, turns their lives upside, and on the journey to finding himself, he finds he's lost more than he bargained for, and opts to set a mends, get the love birds back together, cause Dupree found his NESS, when he discovered CarlNESS. You'll burst out laughing during this movie, do a lot of giggling, and be highly entertained. Definitely recommended for cuddling with sweethearts on the couch.
3. Fifty First Dates, 2004
Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore
Forgetful Lucy. Adam Sandler's character Henry Roth, falls in love with a girl, Drew Barrymore's Character Lucy Whitmore. She's beautiful, smart, funny, and can give it right back at him.. she's perfect, he knows she's the one, she's the one to pull him out of tom cat ways. There is only one problem. Everyday, she wakes up with a clean slate, and he's wiped from her memory. And everyday, he works at rebuilding it all over again, with a lot of first kisses going on. Eventually Lucy figures out that Henry is putting his life off in order to be part of her life, and she erases him from her life, and makes him respect her wishes. Now Henry is at the lowest and saddest part of his life, living without Lucy, until her father shows up to say good-bye to Henry as he prepares his boat, to head to the artic on a walrus watching expedition. Her father gives him a special gift, the beach boys cd, one that her mother gave to him whenever he went out to sea, so he'd miss her and come back. Thinking that Lucy remembered him, he spun his boat around, and went to the hospital Lucy checked herself into, and asked her if she knew him and she said, no. What Henry and Lucy do next, will determine the fate of their love for the rest of their lives.
You gotta watch it to know what happens next, I guarantee you'll cry. With the usual Adam Sandler comedy bits, this movie is, just how Drew described meeting a walrus, "Awesome." This movie will keep you laughing, and at the same time, in saying a lot of Awwwe's. So cute! So adorable! So worth watching with the one you love.
Here's the lyrics to the song Adam Sandler wrote for Drew Barrymore in Fifty First Dates, or better put, Henry Roth wrote for Lucy Whitmore.
The Hukilau was the place
Where I first saw your face
We liked each other right away
But you didn't remember me the very next day
Forgetful Lucy
Has got a nice caboosey
I used to trick you into pulling your car over so we could chat
But my favorite time was when you beat the shit out of Ula with a bat
Then we drove up to see Dr. Keats
And found out why Doug always has to change his sheets
Forgetful Lucy
Cracked her head like Gary Busey
But I still love her so
And I'll never let her go
Even if while I'm singing this song
She's wishing I had Jocko the walrus' schlong
Forgetful Lucy
Her lips are so damn juicy
How about another first kiss

This is a Modern made Movie, about an old Classic Fairytale, the ‘real' Cinderella story. With the deceit of her identity weighing on her heart, and her very cruel stepmother selling her to marriage, she fears she will never see Henry again. Cant' tell you anymore, would spoil it, but you should see it, if you haven't.

8. The Butchers Wife Demi Moore 1991
Demi Moore as Marina Lemke
Jeff Daniels as Dr. Alex Tremor
A beautiful love story about a Clairvoyant, named Marina (Demi Moore). She makes a powerful call to her one true love, and the wrong man answers. She is a bit naïve, but very strong in her powers. She lives on an island in Cocohona, and the Butcher, Larry Lempke, a pudgey, very Brooklyn boy butcher answers her call. She marries Leo, and he is spooked by her magic and thinks she's into some kind of Voodoo. All the boys on the street fall inlove with Marina, all the girls love her for the love advice she offers. Demi is so beautiful with her long blonde hair, and bare feet walking around New York City. She falls inlove with the psychiatrist across the street, who is pulling out his hair, because all of his clients keep meeting the Butchers Wife, and are taking advice from her not him. All falls apart, when Leo falls for a lounge singer, church music teacher, and Marina gives up on love, and her Doctor. SO she leaves. Granny Garbo who raised Marina, and warned her not to push love, it takes as long as it takes. Love is a leap that won't be denied, and she taught Marina about split aparts, which is simular to concept of Plato. Marina has the cutest little New Orleans Accent, she is so perfect for her doctor and he for her.. but at the end it wraps up nicely, with some very surprising and shocking turns of event..
This movie is an older film, the theme and music is a bit 80's style enough though it's a 1991. But it is a wonderful story, it's light hearted, Marina (Demi Moore) is a doll, and it's totally worth renting to watch with your sweetheart.

Some Like it Hot 1959
"I wanna be loved by you." Marilyn Monroe
One of Marilyn Monroe's cutest movies ever made. This movie makes you smile all the way
through it. Marilyn, playing Sugar Kane, is a singer travelling with a female band, and she meets two lovable ladies who become great friends with her. Now these lovable ladies, are actually two
poor misfits, who were musicians and they witnessed the great Valentines Day Massacre, a hit by some bad gangsters. Joe and Jerry were on the run, trying to keep their skirts on, and secretly joined the all girls band. Joe, calling himself Josephine, and Jerry, calling himself Daphne.
Sugar (Marilyn) was on the hunt for a millionaire husband, and Daphne (Jerry) was hit on by a real millionaire, Osgood Fielding. Josephine (Joe), fell inlove with Sugar Kane, (Marilyn) and Joe posed as Osgood Fielding, and bullied his roommate to go out on a date with the Real Million, so he could borrow his yacht to impress Sugar. It all fell apart around the time the gangsters showed up at the Grand Hotel where they played at, for the annual Gangsters Convention. They were found out, on the run, Marilyn got her heart broken, and eventually they all got away. And Marilyn got her man.. but I'm not telling which one, you gotta see the movie.

Mr, and Mrs. Smith 1941
Carole Lombard and Robert Montgomery
Yup, the original movie to Angelina Jollie and Brad Pitt's rendition of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The plots have little to do with each other, and the action of course is more emphasised with Brangelina on the silver screen.
Lombard and Montgomery light up the screen with their sizzling tale of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. A high society couple with their own set of rules. Once a month, Annie Smith and David Smith, are obligated to ask each other a question and the other must answer honestly. David had confessed that he missed his freedom and probably wouldn't marry her again, if he had the chance. Then the strangest thing happens. Sudden Montgomery is contacted by a New York official who tells him that there is a state boundary dispute on, and all couples married between 1936, and 1939, in the country, were not legally married. David at first thinks he could have fun with this, that is until he realizes that the City Official, had also contacted his wife. This starts a whole gut twisting turn of events for David, and he learns a very valuable lesson about Mrs. Smith.
If you like Brangelina's version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, why not try out watching the original, and see them all. Great for cuddles and giggles with your sweetheart.
