Walking through the pharmacy of the department store it seems like no one should have a problem with acne these days. There are so many solutions and lotions that claim they will stop the outbreaks that you would think acne was a thing of the past. But that's not the case. Not all people can use those store-bought solutions, as they can be painful and cause irritation to their skin, making matters worse instead of better. For these people, homemade acne treatments may be a better option.

Instead of a face full of chemicals that may irritate your sensitive skin, or just scare you because you don't know what they all are, you may want to explore acne natural treatments, where you can readily identify the materials going into the concoctions that will hopefully lessen your acne agony.

While those store bought solutions may take a laboratory to create, many acne natural treatments can be made with things you find around the house.

These homemade acne treatments use ingredients like oatmeal, honey, apples, tomatoes and rubbing alcohol to have the same results as the store bought chemicals.

The key to getting rid of acne is getting keeping oil from building up on the skin. The best way to do this is to keep your skin clean.  You should wash the skin at least 2-3 times a day to remove excess dirt and oil. Then, at the end of the day, use a cotton ball or cloth with some rubbing alcohol to wipe the face. The rubbing alcohol will have a drying effect, causing oils to evaporate and leave your face extremely clean and dry.

While this is one of the simplest homemade acne treatments, it needs to be only used once a day. Too much usage of rubbing alcohol on the skin can cause irritation from excess drying effects.  The only exception to this is if you notice a pimple that is forming or need an acne cystic natural treatment. In these cases, you should put a small dab of alcohol, just on the area that is breaking out, 2-3 times a day to try and stop the effects.

If you ever thought of facial masks at the spa as pampering, now you are going to pamper yourself, with homemade acne treatments.

The first of the homemade acne treatments is an oatmeal mask. Mix plain oatmeal with water until you get a thick paste. Place this on the face and leave for 15-20 minutes then rinse. This needs to be done both in the morning and evening.

Another of the homemade acne treatments is a similar paste but made with ground up apple and honey.  This should be left on for approximately 10 minutes before being rinsed off.

Finally one of the homemade acne treatments that helps reduce oil in the skin, ground tomatoes. Once they are mashed up, you need to strain off the juice then put the tomato mash on your face for 15-20 minutes before rinsing.

Whether it's an intentional avoidance of chemicals, or a forced one due to sensitive skin, there are a number of homemade acne treatments that will offer relief and acne natural treatment, made affordably in your own kitchen.
