Gratefulness,

The topic today is gratefulness.

The dictionary defines grateful as warmly or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefits received; thankful: I am grateful to you for your help.

I would like you to take this to a higher meaning. Let's explore gratefulness as a way of life. A 24/7/365 mindset. This has come to me from a book that I am studying called The Great Secret of Gratitude; why being grateful will change your life, by David Hooper

Instead of only being grateful for the good things in our life let's look at being grateful for everything and every moment of our lives. The bad things as well as the good have molded you into the person you are today. This is simple but not necessarily easy. It requires a lot of thought and study. It takes letting go of the past and living in the now.

By being grateful for everything in life we begin to reach a level of awareness that brings us closer to our higher self. That perfect area of mind and spirit that we are constantly trying to get in touch with. We don't have a mind we are a mind with a spirit that lives in a physical body. In effect we are one with the creator or Law of the Universe. My personal opinion is that God is the Law and the Universe; the highest mind and creator and that we are a co-creator and we are mind and spirit extensions of God.

Now, this is not meant to be a religious lesson; to me that is a very personal thing that each person must figure out for themselves. It is my opinion and I respect the fact that some may not share that view.

The Universe is governed by Law. We refer to the Law of Attraction in our business but there are many more. I recently studied a book called Working with the Law, by Raymond Holliwell. In my humble opinion this is one of the best books I have ever read. It has had a profound effect on my journey in personal development.

One Law that is very important in our transformation is the Law of Sacrifice which basically means to let go of. Something always has to be sacrificed for something else A price must always be paid for something else. It means several things. 1. We must forget/let go of the past, This can be tough, so we have to work on this a little at a time . 2. We must forgive, again not easy but it can be done over time. 3. Discipline. Probably the most important, without discipline it's going to be difficult to obtain the results, reach your goals and build the self image that you want for your life.

Gratefulness leads the way. Forgiveness is essential and sacrifice is key to your success. Earl Nightengale said that "Success is the progressive awareness of a worthy ideal" He also said that "an ideal is an idea that you have fallen in love with". In order for us to reach the level of awareness we need we must be in harmony with the Laws of the Universe. It requires study, thought and action. Thought is energy and that fuels action.

Be grateful for everything in your life. Every day is a new opportunity for you to move closer to your higher self. You are the author, the painter and creator of your life. Start today, not tomorrow. Here are some exercises that you can do to get you started.

1. Write a grateful statement

2. Write out your worthy ideal

3. Call two people and let them know how grateful you are for them. Better yet, write them a letter.

4. Write a forgiveness statement, whether it's to yourself or to someone else. If you feel inclined send it to them.

5. Write down what you are willing to sacrifice in order to achieve your worthy ideal.

6. Write down a commitment statement with date that you will complete your worthy ideal.

7. Sign each and every statement, Put your name to it and become emotionally involved with it.

You notice how I ask you to write out these statements. Writing causes thought, thoughts produce ideas, ideas promote action, action produce your results.

"Nothing is impossible to the mind. All it's guidance and power is available to you. When you fully realize THOUGHT CAUSES ALL, you will know that there will never be any limits that you yourself do not impose".
