There are a number of reasons why people might need to trace the name and address of the owner of a phone number.

You have got a phone number and cannot remember who it belongs to, or picked up an unknown number on their called ID. Or you might be receiving unwanted irritating calls from whippersnappers, and want to know who is disturbing your privacy.

The chances you get a result depend on TIME and MONEY.

1. PLENTY OF TIME/NO MONEY.

You can conduct a free research on white page directories, or type the number into Google, search blogs and personal web pages, or call the number and ask who the owner is!

This kind of search is completely free, however it could take a long time and the chance of success depends on the kind of number you are searching.

If the number is a listed residential phone number, your chance to find name and address of the owner is high.

Things get more difficult with cell phone numbers, as they are controlled independently by carrier companies and rarely appear on collections of phone numbers in the public domain.  Your chance to find a unlisted or non-published numbers is none!

2. NO TIME/PLENTY OF MONEY

The best solution for you is to hire a private investigator. In a few hours you get the name you need, with additional information if needed.

Thanks God you've got money - this is service is going to be expensive! PI need to be paid for the service they provide - they know where to look and want to be paid for their expertise and time to access the information.

Estimated fees are about $100 per individual search.

3. LITTLE TIME/LITTLE MONEY

In my opinion, this is the best option... it's the "just right" fit that suits everybody!

The best solution is to access a reverse phone number lookup service on the internet.

You are asked to pay a small fee to access manually-created databases including cell and residential phones, business, and toll-free numbers.

Extra information are sometimes provided, such as public and court records, owner background, estimated value of owner property, and so on.

Reverse phone number databases are constantly updated so that you can always find the most accurate details of the whole of US. That's why you are asked to pay in order to access the database - it requires a lot of time and manpower!

The advantages you get are high, though. For a small amount of money, you get comprehensive details of a wide coverage of phone numbers, including hand phone numbers and unlisted numbers, every time you want - searches are unlimited once you've had access to the database.

That's really worth it!

Be aware that many websites providing reverse phone number lookups advertise as free but is not true.

So when performing your search for a genuine phone number lookup, be sure they grant you a strong money back guarantee in case you found their database useless for your needs.
