Decorating for your Easter Party.
To decorate for the party, you could have Easter confetti on the table, silhouettes of bunnies.
Stuffed Animals.
Stuffed bunnies, or chicks on shelves, sitting on the sofa. Have stuffed animals in barren spots around your party area. It looks really cute, and adds a forest type of atmosphere.
Color theme.
Blue and Yellow. Everything in the tone of pastel Blue, and Yellow.
Lights
Spot lights in green, blue, yellow, or black light. You can have white, or colored lights in windows, around the arches, candles on the table. (battery operated candles are safest.)
Streamers.
Cut outs of bunny streamers hanging from the ceiling.
Easter Tree.
If you have a fake tree, you can hang decorated eggs from it. For instructions, see my how to decorate an Easter Egg for your Easter tree, I'll leave you the link at the end of the article.
An Easter Nest for the table.
You could make a little nest out of colored strips of yellow and blue papter, and put chocolate eggs in it for the kids to nibble on. Plus some real decorated eggs, for an added touch.
Flowers.
Yellow daffodils are an Easter Flower, but it smells strong. It might be best to drop by your local florist, and see what they have for Easter Arrangements. LIllies are also a bit strong in smell, but blue and yellow carnations would be cute with babys breath for your floral centre piece.
Easter Basket.
You could make an Easter Basket that's filled with munchies for your guests. One really neat trick is to get skewer sticks, that are used for shiskabob, and you can buy at a craft store or make cut out for silk flowers. I have an article about a special Easter Basket that's easy to make and looks so professional they'll think you bought it. I have a link at the bottom that will take you to it.
As highlighted in my Saint Patrick's Day Party Ideas, you could paper mache.
Paper Mache Mushrooms. Make them a few feet tall. Think BIG
Decorate with large flowers.
Spring is a big part of Easter, and using LARGE flowers has a great affect. You can buy them at the store, or get wooden dowls, some tissue paper, and make your own.
Paper Mache Easter Eggs.
To add to your magical large theme, you could paper mache extra large, a foot or two high.
Hang mobile of butterflies from the ceiling. Or put pictures of butterflies on the walls and windows.
Ladybugs are a great, to go with butterflies.
You can always save your decorations, and reuse them for birthday party themes, Saint Patrick's, and some even for shower themes such as baby and a Wedding.
Always shop around!
It's always good to check your party shops to see what new and exciting Easter decorations are out for the year. You can buy a themed mural from any store that sells party plates and candles and cups.
10. Bunny Says.
The kids could line up in a row, facing the hostess, and do the bunny hop dance, mimicking the actions, and when someone misses, they are out, until there's two left.
9. Easter Trivia.
You could put questions about Easter, and the Easter Bunny in a hat, and choose the questions. The child with the most creative answer, gets the prize. To make it more interesting you could read them a story that relates to the questions. I have two really cute articles, one being 10 Best Reasons to Believe in the Easter Bunny, and 10 Best Reasons to Celebrate Easter. You could print them off and put it in the bunny hat, or basket. The reasons are cute, and some of them would be great for the kids. If you have preschoolers, get an older child to help out.
8. Egg Games (okay so that's a bonus of two extra, but egg games are so fun!)
Egg Rolling.
Egg Rolling is always popular. You need hard boiled eggs, a spoon, and designate the starting and finishing line. The kids line up and have a race to see who can roll the egg to the finish line.
Egg Toss.
Line up the kids with a partner facing each other, and have them toss to the eggs to their partner, until their basket is full. You count up the eggs, leaving out the ones dropped, to see who wins.
Egg and Spoon Race
With the designated start and finish line, have the kids line up, place egg on a spoon, that's in their mouth, and have them race to the finish line. The first to cross without dropping their egg wins. Suggestion, use hard boiled eggs.
7. Decorate your own treats.
My all time favourite thing to do with the kids that's ALWAYS a hit, is to let them decorate their own cookies. I fill a table with shortbread cookies, made with cookie cutters.
You can fill the tray with colourful sprinkles, chocolate sprinkles, mini marshmallows, squeeze bottle frosting, squeeze bottle writing gel for cakes,what ever you can find.
Let the kids decorate their own muffins, pieces of cake, or cookies.
* I find the little girls spend more time making cookies for the boys, then they do playing anything else. And the boys love to make their cookies, all on their own. This works great for Christmas Parties, Halloween Parties, Easter Parties, and even Birthday Parties. Kids love to do it for themselves.
6. Guess the number of jelly beans in the jar.
Can't have an Easter Party without jelly beans. Fill a jar, and put some paper and a pen beside it. Have fun watching the kids guess how many jellybeans are in the bottle. Of course you're gonna have to find a bag that promises 150 jelly beans are in the bag, or else you'd have to count them to. But it's loads of fun.
5. Bunny Hokey Pokey. This is an oldie but a goodie.
You put your bunny ears in, you take your bunny ears out,
You put your bunny ears in, and you shake them all about.
You do the bunny-pokey, and you hop yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

Do the bunny hokey pokey and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about. (can use bunny paws, bunny tail)
* As according to the title of this article there is a mix of the Most Popular and Best New party games. The most popular games, although not on the list of the Best 10, pin the tale and Piñatas are always the most popular. It's a cherished thing for moms to play a party game with their little ones, that they played when they were young. Brings back memories and hay, there's nothing wrong with having family traditions.
There is usually a pin the tale on just about anything at a good party store, of course they use sticky tape now-a-days. I even found a pin the nose on the pumpkin once. If not, you could print out a picture of a bunny or draw one.
Bunny Piñatas are also popular, filled with confetti and Easter treats. It's a great way to fill party bags for the kids, let them pick out their own candy from the Piñata.
4. Easter Egg Painting, and card making craft table.
You can have a basket of plastic or real eggs, with sheets of soakable designs for the eggs, or markers, and or paint for the kids to decorate their own eggs to take home. You can have Easter stickers, glue, colored paper, and ribbons and glitter, and let them make their own Easter Cards.
The kids can deliver Easter Cards, and decorated eggs to each other by putting them in the other's children's baskets, or make some for home. 3. Easter Music
Play the Easter Groovy Tunes, and when the music stops everyone has to freeze, or they are out, until the last one is standing.
* Easter Bunny Karaoke
You can have a Karaoke time, where all the kids get to play. Use Easter Songs like Hot Cross Buns, Here come Peter Cotton Tale, The Easter Parade, or what ever songs you find. Karaoke songs are easily downloaded for free on the links I provided on my free Easter Song Downloads articles.
2. Plant a Flower.
You could, for fun, and considering that Spring is on the way, have a craft for the kids, that they can take home. A good potted soil bag, and some tiny jars would be needed, and a few packs off floral seeds. Make sure the seeds are in season. The kids can decorate their jar, put in their own soil, and plant their seed. Don't forget to put their name on it.

You guessed it.
1. The Great Easter Egg Hunt.
Each child, with no running, can have a basket, lined with Easter Grass, and when you say go, they go on an Easter Egg Hunt. To make it fair, no one's allowed to touch the Easter Eggs that have a little trail of candy leading to the eggs, that's for the preschoolers. You can use the plastic eggs, and put chocolate, or little knickknacks in the eggs. It's always the best fun!
