Boston Terrier is the modern name for Boston Bull Terrier Dog nowadays. And in this article, I will be discussing some of the more important facts that you need to know about your dog.

The Boston bull terrier dog was initially used for dog fights but nowadays, it has become an invaluable human companion to families. It is gentle, intelligent and well-mannered – earning the reputation of being called the American Gentleman.
   
They are very sensitive to voices and like to learn therefore is quite easy to train. Their intelligence helps them in terms of training aspect.
   
They are most reliable when with children and are especially good with elderly people. They are also very friendly towards strangers.

Boston bull terrier dog can live in all kinds of environment, from a small dwelling to a large suburban or country home.

But they may have problems breathing when stressed by exertion in hot or cold weather as they are an inside dog. Their prominent eyes are also prone to corneal injury.

Boston bull terrier dog makes an excellent companion because of its lively, friendly character. He also is a great family pet as he loves games and children.

Their breathing difficulties may cause them to snore or drool. And the large headed pups are often delivered by caesarean section. Common problems include heart and skin tumors. In some instances, some badly bred Boston bull terrier dog may have a bone defect in the skull preventing the brain from growing, resulting in a retarded dog.

The coat of a Boston bull terrier dog is also easy to groom as it is smooth and short. All you need is a brush with firm bristles. Comb and bathe only when necessary. Wipe the face with a damp cloth every day and clean the prominent eyes with care. Remember to check for grass seeds and ticks in the ears or eyes. Then clip the nails from time to time.
