Plastic bags are bags made of polyethylene and are a substitute for paper bags and find applications in several industries including agriculture, apparel, bakery, dry cleaning, hardware, electronics, fish food, hosiery, hotels, house wares, shipping, manufacturing, medical, pet food, poultry, retail, footwear, and trade shows. They are also used for several household applications. In short, there is practically no industry that does not use plastic bags in one form or the other.

Even though plastic bags are currently available in a variety of colors, the most popular are still the transparent, semi-transparent, or the white colored plastic bags. Clear plastic bags allow the logo to be more distinct and are preferred by most shopkeepers.

Clear plastic bags are durable and made of clear material. They are thinner than regular plastic bags but are usually stronger. Many manufacturers also produce acid free, static free, and lint free crystal clear bags so they can be used in hospitals and laboratories to store items without fear of contamination.

Clear plastic bags are also a good option for storing food and sealing foodstuff that might other wise go bad in regular plastic wraps. Since they are acid free, crystal clear plastic tends to keep the food fresher compared to when the food is stored in plastic containers or other plastic wrappings. Also, since they are clear, the food stored in them is visible.

Clear plastic wraps are sometimes used instead of shrink-wrapping or regular packaging. As with other bags, these crystal clear bags come with self-adhesive peel-off sealing strips and are very useful even in household purposes. They can be bought either in wholesale or as smaller packs in a retail store.

These crystal clear bags are great for wrapping photos and matted art images because they are acid free. Since they are crystal clear, the art or picture would be clearly seen even after the picture is wrapped. As mentioned, they make a good alternate for shrink-wrapping.

Clear plastic bags are also available as shopping bags with tie-on handle, hand bags, small jewelry pouches, CD covers and for other such small but important items.
