Held at Augusta National Golf Club each year in April, the Masters Golf Tournament is a well-established tournament and regular stop for qualifiers on the PGA tour. The first Masters tournament was held in 1934, after golf enthusiasts Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts decided to promote and encourage golf by sponsoring a tournament.

Augusta takes great pride in hosting each spring the Masters Golf tournament, the sport's most prestigious event. Augusta National, designed by Allister MacKenzie, would be a treasured golf course even if it never hosted a professional golf event. It is one of the truest tests of the sport.

Masters tickets are hands down the premium golf ticket in the world. The argument can be made that Masters tickets are the toughest ticket in the world to get your hands on.  Masters tickets are hands down the toughest ticket to get in all of sports.

Masters tickets are handed down from generation to generation and caused pitched battles in divorce proceedings. Only Practice Round tickets are sold from year to year, and those are sold out for 2008.  Typical Masters Golf Tournament Packages include multiple day passes, housing and more.  It really depends on what your overall spending budget really is.

To give you an idea of how tough it is to get tickets, the Practice Rounds ticket applications for the 2008 Masters tournament were mailed in June 2007 to those people who applied or requested Practice Round ticket information back in 2006 and/or 2007.  The successful applicants were notified in September 2007.  Augusta National sells these tickets to the public in a lottery format. Maybe next year, you can get on the course for the practice rounds and find a good hiding place and hang around for the tournament too.

When I was a kid, we lived in North Augusta, South Carolina. Cross over this bridge, however, and you entered Augusta, Georgia, home of The Masters Gold Tournament. One year, my father managed to get two tickets to the Masters tournament through his job. So did he take my mother with him? Nope. Rather, he invited a friend from work. Years later, my father could not even name the friend who went with him. But my mother sure never let him forget his decision!
