There is usually the easy way and the hard way to do things. Getting your ex back should be one of those situations where you do things the easy way. AS it is already a time when you will be going through a lot of emotions from feeling sad to angry, to bitter and upset, you need not put yourself through the ringer and feel even worse. One of the things you can do to make it easier is to look to your friends for support. F course you do not want to over burden them by being the whiny, poor me kind of person, but look to them to lift you up and for emotional support. Let them know what you need from them in advance and they will likely give it to you. Just don't turn into the person that turns every outing into a downer. Also, if your ex sees that you are moving on with your life and out with your friends, they will more than likely start to see you in a different light, making it that much easier to get back in their arms.
Another thing you can do to make it easier is to avoid all contact with your ex. This works in two ways. If you are in constant contact the emotional wounds will keep getting opened when you are with them or around them. Being in that kind of constant pain is not good for anyone. Avoiding contact will give you time to heal. Avoiding contact will also help them to see what they miss about you and hopefully want back.
One last thing that you can do make it easier to get your ex back is to respect the boundaries that they set or ask of you. For instance if they ask that you do not come over unannounced then listen to them. Don't just show up thinking that you can talk it out and all things will be better. Respect their space, just as they are respecting yours.
