 Happiness is a Redhead

The beginning of a new romance

Awakens in me,

A fire struck with indelicate ease

As if existing only to blaze

Within

Potential to warm-

Preserve life or destroy

Others take refuge

For the warm heart is contagious

Exhilarating energies are born

From new orgasms-

So much, that

Even my hair turns more red than gold!

The Tao of Swimming
Current mood: happy
Category: Writing and Poetry

The Spring Sun is tender and triumphant!

Breathes new life to the Earth;

flickers of light, dance over the undulating waves of emerald waters.

To swim in the spring time is rejuvenating-

strokes are lithe and energetic;

as free spirited as dolphins fins

who rejoice without fear-

their child like giggles echo -

within the majestic deep below

Two friends reunited, one year after a funeral
Current mood: sad
Category: Writing and Poetry

Greetings, my old friend -

aren't you a sight for sore eyes?

( hello )

 Goodbye,

( please, go )

All of this time has past -

and yet, I am still in mourning

Strangers on a Train
Current mood: creative
Category: Writing and Poetry

Yesterday,

I watched

A fat man enter the subway

 He had

A large, steaming

Pizza

Permeating

Through a cardboard box

He looked

Excited

Thrilled

Orgasmic, even

For some reason

Our eyes met

And suddenly

He was

Naked.

I exited

The train

Next stop

And forgot all about him.

The numbing sting of betrayal
Current mood: hurt
Category: hurt Writing and Poetry

Honesty,

is now

my bitter enemy.

Naive confessions

are reckless-

and I am bruised

and bloodied

and beaten;

for the heart,

is a ruthless traitor.

Some powerful emotions in your work. I like your brevity which adds to the impact of each piece. Far too many poets these days, overwrite their work. This is very honed, exposing the raw emotion and striking the reader intensely. Some need a little 'proof reading' for 'typos' e.g. Strangers on a Train - the last line is in the wrong tense. A way to overcome this type of thing is to read it aloud - slowly with real annunciation. If you read it quickly, you will probably not 'see' the typo.
Well done, though. I enjoyed your work.

Your poetry is lovely. One question, though. Did you intend for the font to be so small? It's a bit hard to read...perhaps you could enlarge? Keep up the good work. Your heart shines through.

is it? my apologies..i like the small font, however; as it visually adds to the generalised feeling of sensitivity in the poetry.

a sort of an e.e.cumming's tradmark? lol

Thank You!!
Cheers,
jennifer

Thank you, Ben Morrish!

i'd tried to add some existentialist thought near the end. for example, i might have ended it with
"...Naked" but i chose to continue with the thought that we are all truly alone on this journey

Best,
jennifer

Jenmister, Nice stuff! Writing well oftentimes requires less, yes? And you do this well. Thanks again for the poems! I've got a few poems you might like to look at, that's is, if you're interested. Thanks.
