It is obviously very different for each person when it is the rigth time for having the first child. This article will help you make the decision by pointing out the pros and cons for different ages. When you are in your twenties you have a lot of energy which will influence on the way you raise your child. It is easyier to stay op all night when the child is ill, and you will have more energy to engage in different activities with your child. At the same time your child will most likely become grandparents who are still active and therefor can be an importent part of your childs life. On the other hand most people are very searchfull in this age, and what to do as a career and where to etablish a future home are also issues of great importance in these years. Having a child in you thirties gives you more time to have your career well started and therefor have more ease of the jobsituation plus having a more established economy. On the other hand it can be very incalculable to take a year out of the calender to go home with the child when your are in the middle of an important career step. More and more people have their first child in their fourties. It is often people who had problems by getting pregnant. Some people will think that you would be too old to be starting a family, but at this piont of your life you problerbly have full control of your job- and home situation and therefore are able to give your child a great part of your focus. The big risk at getting pregnant at this age is the potential risk of having problems during the pregnancy and for the child to loose his og her parents at an early age. At the end no people can control the excact time of pregnancy and if you will whait for the right time, the right time will proberbly never occur. Children will create a lot of happiness and unpredictness in your world and so will your pregnancy.

Mr. Hougaard has a great interest in children and has recently written different articles for a famous danish website.
