Living in the grand state of Arizona is a peaceful, humbling experience. Each day, I go for long walks and savor in the beauty of this Earth, awe stricken and spiritually renewed. To me, there is no refuting Intelligent Design in the intracity of Nature - in all of its variations and subtleties. From the peaks of snow capped clay colored mountains in the north, to the valleys of pastel colored flowering cacti; immense variations of greens and yellows and the sky blue turquoise waters of her mystically hidden lakes, there is no end to the spiritually rejuvenating proof of her masterfully artistic creator. And I am humbled by its perfection.

Why do we love to travel so much? Is it all because we yearn to acknowledge the multitudinous cultures that inhabit our global community, or do we seek to reap the benefits of exploring this House of God, our house, that we call planet Earth, or both? As an artist, I am in love with Nature, and with exploring the vastness of its mysteries. No matter what disappointments, or failures or obstacles to which I face, a simple walk through the woods or deserts or beaches soothes my sorrows and fills me with hope and peace of mind.

We should all take the time to stop and smell the roses -- and forgive me for sounding cliché--but it is one of the most uplifting meditations that we may all take refuge in, and it is given to us freely and most generously. For it is my personal proof of meaning amidst the towering spread of destructive materialism, and it is my shield of glimmering comfort. And it never fails me.

I have found peace of mind in this time. Back in the 60s it seemed impossible to adjust to society. things have slowed down some. "good article"

Ok, I like what you write to but let me ask this kind of frinedly like, just how do you stand those hot days? Bauty yes, cool evenings, ok. I live in Florida and every summer I ask myself why? No I do not use the beach or water ways. So why am I here? Well 7 other months a year I guess because everything else is the pits. So how do you cope? Hey, your next article. You're welcome. best wishes.
