Along the south shore of Lake Austin, the multi-award winning Eanes Independent School District includes Rollingwood, Westlake Hills, and parts of Austin. Eanes ISD includes six elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school.

Rated as a Recognized school district on the Texas Education Agency Academic Excellence Indicator System, Eanes ISD shares this distinction with only 18% of the school districts in Texas. Westlake High School received a Recognized rating, which was bestowed upon only two high schools in Central Texas.

Schools receiving Exemplary ratings account for only 8% of schools in the entire state of Texas. Eanes ISD schools receiving Exemplary status for 2007 are Barton Creek Elementary, Bridge Point Elementary, Cedar Creek Elementary, Eanes Elementary, Forest Trail Elementary, Valley View Elementary, Hill Country Middle, and West Ridge Middle.

But, the honors for Eanes ISD do not stop with the TEA ratings! Westlake High School was recognized by Newsweek magazine as one of the Top High Schools in America. Texas Monthly magazine included Barton Creek Elementary, Hill Country Middle, and West Ridge Middle Schools in its list of High Performing Public Schools in December 2007.

Hill Country Middle, West Ridge Middle, and Westlake High have been recognized by the Texas Business and Education Coalition Honor Roll. Bridge Point Elementary received Promising Practices awards from the Character Education Partnership for 2004, 2005, and 2006. Eanes Elementary received a Promising Practices award from TEA for its early childhood program.

West Ridge Middle School has been recognized as a Model School by the National Endowment for the Arts. West Ridge was also a recipient of the President's Volunteer Service Award.

Schools recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Department of Education include Barton Creek Elementary, Eanes Elementary, Forest Trail Elementary, Hill Country Middle, West Ridge Middle, and Westlake High.

Westlake High School boasted 26 National Merit semifinalists and 30 National Merit commended students for the 2007-08 school year. Three Westlake students received perfect scores on the ACT in 2007 and one student received a perfect score on the SAT.

Each school within Eanes ISD has been a recipient of the Texas Successful School Award for Outstanding Performance from TEA. This award distinguishes schools that have shown consistently high standards or have made outstanding progress in their educational goals. The award winning Eanes ISD provides top quality educational opportunities for its students.
