You know..I have come to realize that I thought I was somebody when
I am a nobody. I am nothing without God and the only things that are
good in me are what the Holy Spirit has given me.
Most of us think that we are somebody in this world. Some people
believe that they need to move up the corporate ladder in order to be
"somebody." Some think that there are nobodies but they feel that they
have nowhere to turn. There are poor people, "middle-class" people, and
rich people. But who says that the more money you get makes you
somebody? Where does that leave you in light of eternity?
Jesus said in Luke 16:13, "A servant cannot serve two masters. He
will hate the first master and love the second, or he will be devoted
to the first and despise the second. You cannot serve God and wealth."
Our pride gets in the way of becoming true believers because we want
to "fit in". We want to have it all and "Keep up with the Jones's". How
wretched we are.
I put myself in this because I have been there. I am not exempt from
God's judgment simply because I have this website or write this
article.
The government goes around trying to take off the Ten Commandments
from every government building when in essence Earl Wilson says,
"Somebody figured out that we have 35 million laws trying to enforce
Ten Commandments." Why don't we just deal with the Ten Commandments
instead?
Who do we think we are when we believe that we can do anything in
this world regardless of consequences? We can get away with rape,
stealing, and even murder simply because we have lots of money to buy
off the judge.
I hate to tell you this but you can not buy off God! |
