Fake Lacoste: Spotting Counterfeit Crocodile Polos! First and foremost; Authentic Lacoste can only be bought at an authorized distributor and or Lacoste Store. eBay is not a great choice for finding Authentic Lacoste, for 10 Years eBay has been flooded with ten's of thousands of fake Lacoste Polos, Shoes and anything with the infamous croc!

Lacoste does not wholesale, resale, , liquidate, close-out, or distribute any of its name brand clothing to anyone other than their physical stores and or partners, such as Nordstroms, Macy's, eLuxury.com, etc. Any seller claiming they are a wholesaler, liquidator, resale agent or anything similiar is 100% b.s. If any seller claims this, that is because you are going to deal with FAKE Lacoste.

Lacoste typically runs all their clothes to size, if you have ever bought a small, a medium, or large that size with will run standard. If you buy a small, medium or large from an online reseller claiming to be authentic and it does not fit. If the product is not a specific type, i.e. muscle fit, stretch or mini, chances are you have purchased FAKE Lacoste.

Lacoste's quality of products is extremely good. Find your product with tons of loose strings, miss stiches or general slopiness around the lines. That is a large tall tail sign that you have Fake Lacoste. Below are the best tips to deteremining if you have Authentic Lacoste or Fake Lacoste.

Lacoste's Crocodile Placement: On all Authentic Lacoste Polos, the crocolodile is on the left side, between the second button and the bottom stiching. If the Crocodile is not in the middle of these two places, that is the easiest way to indicate the authenticity of your Lacoste Polo.

Lacoste's Mother of Pearl Buttons: Your Lacoste polo's are expensive because they are not made of cheap materials, Lacoste Polo buttons are made from genuine mother of pearl, where two patterns should ever be the same. Fake Lacoste button's are made from plastic buttons that all look and feel the same. As well, if "Lacoste" is printed on the button, your shirt is Fake!

Lacoste Price: Generally, Fake Lacoste Polo's cost around $10-13 and they usually are imported from India or China. Although the quality varies, they are still fake and extremely cheap to produce. Fake eBay sellers buy these for $10-13 range with shipping, so your really buying a polo that costs only $5-8 range, Wal-Mart doesn't even sell polo's that cheap! As the saying goes, "if it is too good to be true, it most likely is fake" Any Lacoste Polo's price from $10-$40 on eBay are dead fakes!

Lacoste Sizes: Lacoste sizing is European Sizing, not Small, Medium, Large, X-Large. I find it humorous with eBay authentic's stating 100% Authentic "Medium" Polo's etc etc. Typical Lacoste sizing ranges from 3,4,5 etc

Lacoste Fabric: Generally the fabric on a Lacoste Polo doesn't feel like everyday cotton, that is why they cost so much! Fabric is extremely light and very comfortable. For a better idea, look at the pictures below. Fake Lacoste has a Honeycomb weave easily spotted by its hexagonal pattern. Authentic Lacoste has a textured surface background verticals.
