I spent most of my twenties traveling the world. My goal was to live on every continent by the time I was thirty. Well, I made it to four--North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Since then (I am now thirty-three), I have traveled to South America. Marriage changed everything, traveling became less frequent, but I did make my husband a traveler. He has been to Thialand and Peru with me. I believe that I have tons of traveling knowledge and would like to share.

Traveling straight out of high school is the best time to travel.

Traveling after September and before December, after February and before the middle of May is the best time to go. Flights are cheaper because School is going on and less people can travel. You will save at least a few hundred dollars.

Accomodation is also cheaper. Hostals take off $ or whatever currency during the off season. The summer is a time when things are really expensive. Prices go way up.

You can also fly for cheaper (anytime) if you are a student, under 25.

I remember traveling round trip to London for less than $350 if I was over 25 it would have been close to $600

Stay in a hostel. You meet more people (from around the world), make new friends, and find out where the good places to go are

You will make life time friends if you stay in a hostel and it is cheaper. If you stay in a B & B or a hotel you are somewhat secluded, and it is harder to meet people

Work abroad. If you are working in a country, you are making money instead of just spending it. Not to mention you will get to experience the country/city more being there longer than a few days or weeks. You will get to meet people from the country/city and get a better feel of what the country/city is all about.

Living there also allows you to travel around the country or to another close country very easy. It is cheaper to fly or take a bus or train from a closer country than the US. If you buy it here they will mark up the price because you are buying it here.

Don't take the train. Americans are usually the only ones on trains and it is more expensive than taking the bus, or buying a car

Buy a used car. Buying a beater car is the cheapest way to go. Buying a car for $1000 is cheaper than a bunch of bus trips and way cheaper than taking the train. DO NOT TAKE THE TRAIN

Other people are looking to buy a car, usually you can just sell your car to another traveler with no problem

If you are going to Ireland, France, or Amsterdam fly into London and take the night bus. Not only is it cheaper, but you don't have to pay for a night at a hostel and you get to take a boat trip or mabe the train that goes to France from Dover (Included in the bus ticket).

Don't go to just the touristy parts of a city. Try eating or going to the pub where there isnt any tourists. This way you get to meet and listen to locals. You will get to find out what it really is like to live in that country

That is all for now, I will add later so bookmark this page to find out more useful things
