There are times in our lives when we realize that we have finally grown up.  I am almost 56 years old and I had that realization today. I no longer smoke, drink, do drugs or even have sex without the contract of marriage.  I finally have my priorities in the right order. I never thought this day would really come.  There were many days, months and years, if the truth be known, that I just didn't figure it really mattered. I was so far off the path I couldn't even see the edges of where I was suppose to be.

God chose a specific path for me … one that was designed by Him for my good, for my growth, just for me and no other. God has been so patient with me.  I know that it hurt Him when I strayed, when I ventured off and went in a direction that was contrary to His design and desires.  I know that He shed a tear when He saw that I was in pain and lost.  I know that He suffered when He saw me fall and wasn't aware enough to reach out and grab the hand that He extended.  And I know that He wept with joy when I returned to the path He had chosen for me.

That path is one that leads to Him.  It is filled with the love, the life and the glory of His son, Jesus Christ.  It is covered with His blessings, His teachings, His guidance, His love, His patience, His understanding and His friendship.

It has taken me years of pain, lessons and growth, but I have finally returned to The Path... His Path... My Path.   Now they are all the same.  I pray that I stay.
