Set against the background of the Darling Harbour, the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre is one of the leading exhibitions and trade show venues in the world. The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre is Australia's largest exhibition venue and hosts some of the most popular conventions and exhibitions in the world.

The Centre has five exhibition halls and each of halls average around 5,000 square meters in area. Clients have the choice of utilising the total space of 25,000 square meters or using each unit separately. The centre comes equipped with exceptional facilities such as 20 conference rooms, smaller meeting rooms, boardrooms and three levels of amenities with elevator access. Added to this, the Centre has excellent service an auditorium that seats 3500 people, banquet seating for 1600 and cocktail party hosting for 2500 people. The Centre also offers its clients the most advanced technology and high-speed broadband access. The venue also has ample parking space, with entry to car parking under Hall 4 of the Exhibition Centre. There is disabled access with lifts and ramps leading to all rooms.

Every year, the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre is the venue for more than one hundred large exhibitions and trade shows, which include the Sydney International Boat Show, and the Australian International Motor Show (which drew almost 300,000 recently). Some of the upcoming exhibitions at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre include the Adobe Air Camp, WebDu 2008, Retail World and Web Directions 2008.

Pursuing ecologically sound policies, the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre has replaced the 800 lights in its five exhibition halls with energy efficient ones. This change now makes it possible to adjust the lighting as per one's requirement whilst also saving energy in the process.

In addition to the lighting, the Centre has organised its own waste management - reducing waste and maximising recycling of paper, cardboard, plastic, aluminium and light construction waste: Even food waste is converted into electricity and fertiliser. The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre is the one of the few exhibition venues in the world to get a Green Globe accreditation for its environmental practices.

Visitors can find accommodation a stone's throw away from the venue.

Hotels such as the Ibis Darling Harbour, Novotel Sydney and the Radisson are only a 2-minute walk from the centre, whilst there are a number of choices for other accommodation types and all within walking distance. Sydney also has an excellent public transportation system, making the exhibition centre very accessible.
