Clearly communicating what you want enables others to provide it. When your communication is indirect, unclear and general the people who want to provide for you are unable because they don't know what you want.

"Think like a wise man but communicate in the language of the people."

William Butler Yeats

Irish dramatist & poet (1865 - 1939)

Clearly communicating what you want will more likely bring what you want into your life. There are people trying to please you right now. Do they know how? Have you clearly told them what you want? Have you bothered to ask for what you want? Or are you making others guess at what you want and how to please you?

There is a saying in sales "A Confused Mind Says No Every Time". I think this it true in other areas of life as well. When we are confused by what people want it is easy to say no. We do not know what we are getting into, we do not know what is expected, we do not know how to succeed so we say no or politely pass on the opportunity.

Your Turn:

Making people guess at what you need is a sure path to frustration for both parties. When people get frustrated by you too many times they will stop trying, because the cost of trying is more costly than not trying at all.

What do you want? What do you expect? How do you want it? How are you communicating it? Are you being direct? Are you speaking "their language" or is it going over their heads? After you have communicated what you want in a clear manor to those who could fulfill your request, have you asked them to fulfill your request?

I know if sounds so simplistic, but so many of lives most valuable answers are this simple.
