For the "newbie" pipe smoker, choosing a pipe can be difficult with all the different styles and price points. If you are new to smoking tobacco you generally want to begin with something relatively inexpensive.. If you decide that pipe smoking is not right for you it makes sense to limit your expenses by choosing something on the lower end of the scale. Of course, if you're an experienced tobacco smoker you can always try different styles of pipe and tobacco. One of the most beautiful pipes you can have is the Meerschaum Pipe. They are hand carved works of art that can be enjoyed for many years and even passed down through generations.

The choicest Meerschaum deposits are located in only one place in the world - in the city of Eskisehir Turkey. They are mined with hand tools by men with special training in this family tradition. Meerschaum is deep-mined at depths ranging from 200 to 300 feet, and about 4 miles across. It can be found in other areas, but the highest quality available is found in Eskisehir. They are then usually fashioned into a stunning smoking piece or other smoking accessory.

Meerschaum is different in that it affords a unique, pleasurable smoking experience. The Meerschaum pipe is the most flavorful pipe you can own. They are well known for their beauty, and each one is hand carved, creating a unique smoking pipe. Meerschaum - one of the most porous substances found in nature smokes cool and dry with a flavor unmatched by any other pipe. Each pipe colors differently as it ages, meerschaum usually colors a deep honey- brown, improving both in appearance and taste.

Generally, a new Meerschaum Pipe will be white or a creamy yellow. With continued use it will begin to turn different colors eventually settling on a dark cherry. The seasoning process happens so slowly that it is barely noticeable. Over time, tobacco has a sweeter, more delicate flavor than it does in other pipes.

You will find that most pipes will be satisfying to use, but a Meerschaum Pipe will change with its owner, becoming more wise and distinguished over time.
