As I was sitting reading an article about Vietnam this came to mind concerning the plight of America today. If it wasn't so blatantly clear I would have brushed by it. aside, yet something drove me to put my thoughts into words. Now many of us "old timers" Baby Boomers and some that followed a little after us can still remember this quick history lesson. If we drop back to the Second World War one finds that Vietnam [French Indo-China] was an ally in the war against Japan. It was formerly a French Colony. Later it was divided after the war and the two warring political factions the Capitalists and the Communists fought over their own interests. It was much the same all over this world at that time Korea, Europe and other nations split by two different economic ideologies. It seems there is always an ideology to kill over and never one for peace?

One would think that mankind after just losing millions in the Second World War would have been able to reconcile their differences. Yet man being man, that which we are, will evidently just never be able to grasp that. So we know that Ho Chi Min booted the French out of North Vietnam and subsequently we lost tens of thousands of our citizen's lives in a lost cause in South Vietnam. The majority of those people evidently didn't care what system they lived under? That is exccept the have who left with us. Yes we even invaded on a lie [The Gulf of Tonkin] sound familiar with what has been in the press lately? Vets coming home to hate and little else did eventually get a nice monument.

Now what was this all about? Yes really, what was it all about? Well simple and pure it was about Globalism, The new World Order, only whose? Yes the Communists were pushing the people concept, for the worker against the evils of Capitalism and exploitation. Can one believe that when we see the condition of their society verses the have of their nations? Examples that are blatant all over this globe. However, that's strange because so were the Capitalists. They were pushing, get this, "a better standard of life". Do you have that Mr. and Mrs average American?

Do we and did we ever believe that our system was about people, really, did you really believe that? In reality the Capitalists were pushing Free and Open markets and democracy was the fastest route to attaining that source for wealth. In simple terms buy low sell high. Hence in my opinion Vietnam, Korea, Iraq. In my opinion it was and is never about people. Yes protecting "our" way of life but rhetotically who does the our apply to? Hey when the leader of the free world can stand up and say outright "Money always trumps peace" just what more do you need? Just what does that statement say? Are we that pathetic? Hitler said it right out as well and they all laughed. Yes, "Peace in our time", yea right. So the Communists, who by nature of greed, spent themselves into bankruptcy, [sound familiar] leaving the pickings to the Capitalists. You know both systems were supposed to benefit, you got it [the people] and yes did they, no, you got that as well.

Now of course you will hear the defenders of both giving argument after argument as to why that is not so. Well sorry it is so and we are a prime example of that today. We are a nation of have and of have not. So if we look at Vietnam and all that death and blood and injury and hurt you will see that over 200 All American companies manufacture there now. Yes the choice names in American business and many are in China and Indonesia and India. Yes you can name many of these All American companies. You are wearing or own and buy their goods.

Yes they moved your job elsewhere for cheap foreign labor. They can afford all of the taxes and transport and everything else to bring it to our market because of that cheap labor while making exorbitant profits. In fact profits have been so high they have been "absorbing" the extra costs during this surge in fuel prices. How nice of them, really. So just when will this stop and that extra cost start flowing to us? Very soon according to all business projections.

So these lovers of country, who manufacturer outside of our own nation, who moved our industry, our technology our very lifeblood to a nation who just 40 years ago we were at war with illustrates plainly in my opinion that the war wasn't necessary. It only mattered that there would be an extended time line to bring about that change to a semi market economy. Wasn't that worth it in terms of lives, injury and costs? Rhetorically does it matter at all when we are talking about bovine? Need more meat move them to market? Get the point?

So here we are today with 15% or more of the population in dire straights our economy in shambles and regardless of what they say it isn't changing soon. It can't, why, we do not have the capability and to gear up will take time, a long time. Then again will Americans even get the jobs? In my opinion no. We have totally reduced the capacity of our society to compete across the board. Hey when they import teachers from England, nurses from the Philippines and Farm labor from Mexico, along with technological help from India what dos that say? It says many things my friend, too many things. It says in Europe and other nations their children are taught multiple languages. It is mandatory. What do we offer, Spanish and English and soon to be that order. In every other area of education foreign nations excel over us, why? Yes why should that be when it never was? These same countries that couldn't do it for thousands of years all of a sudden can? Yes with our very lifeblood. They say Americans can't do it any longer why? Why when we train them and they can't think on their feet. Why it is called and for no other reason in my opinion CHEAP LABOR.

Vietnam, Politics and Death was then. We now have other nations who fit the bill and after them even more. You see Russia is on the move again and the age-old battle for world dominance is looming again. Just what system will prevail? Well my friends for the average, the poor, the worker in my opinion it isn't any of these systems. Neither of them and yes even Socialism, the new move between the conflicting ideologies doesn't solve the issues either. In my opinion this ideology is but a bone for the masses while the have continue to reap. Sadly, many yearn for it, MOO.

Well America is in my opinion in such serious shape that many people do not believe it. They just do not and they don't care to. Yet the signs and symbols the facts are right before them. The problem is plainly and in my opinion clear that many in this nation still have and therefore they do not see the cancer growing. Yes they keep smoking until they get the news and that news isn't far away. Yes Vietnam, Iraq, Politics and Death only with a new name and identity.

David in my heart I knew you would be one to respond. Like me, you have deep sentiments concerning this. Now that we are older we can sit back and take a look at it and see the similarities. Thanks for your response and best wishes.

Thanks Lloyd for your kind remarks. Yes I guess as we get older we do see clearer but not necessarily with our eyes. Llyod in my writings, all of them, I try to focus on the facts as they are not and use reason and common sense, something sorely lacking today. The rhetoric, or what I refer to as the Easter Bunny package marketing approach these politicians put on to sell themselves as whatever we want them to be is totally ignored. I look at what they have done or failed to do. Yes the same as you judge any person. So if you sit back and really "look" with those "old fart eyes" like mine as you describe yourself, I sense the wisdom that comes with years will open them wide. As for me I'm voting them all out. Yes who ever is now in, I'm voting against. We may not change the types but we will surely send a message. Best wishes and once again thanks!
