Lower back tattoos have become increasingly popular. The lower back is one of the most sensual areas a women can get tattooed. They are also very easy to cover up, which is great if you don't want your boss to see it or the snobbish soccer moms at your kids' games. The advantage being able to show or hide the lower back tattoo has helped to increase its popularity.

Normally, these tattoos are done around the waist line and are designed to fit perfectly to the curves of the female back and natural curves of her hips. These designs usually have a shallow and small curvature accentuating this part of the body.

Popular designs include:

  • Flowers
  • Vines
  • Stars
  • Angels
  • Dragonflies
  • Birds
  • Butterflies
  • Plants
  • And flowers

Just about anything your imagination can think of looks good on the lower back, but you should always choose one that you won't regret and will enjoy for the rest of your life.

Always put a lot of thought into your design. The one tattoo most people regret is one with someone's name on it, the exception being a loved one's name. Find a tattoo with meaning. The meaning behind a tattoo is important, both now and later on in life. When you look at designs, you should always pick the one that literally calls out to you.

Before getting your lower back tattoo, look at several designs first, and then decide the best one for you. The impulse to get a tattoo can be great, but patience is key here.

You can also have a professional tattoo artist design one for you. This way, you can have a tattoo design based on what you want. Although a custom design may cost a bit more money it sometimes is worth the regret you might have later.

There are many printable tattoo designs available these days, so choose with care.
