Silk flowers provide a great stamping medium and themed embellishment for scrapbooking and clear stamping projects. The effects are stunning and so simple to accomplish.

Choosing the silk flower

When clear stamping on silk flowers, you will find that the stamped images will show up best on pastel or white petals. It is simple to use darker colors for contrast.

Disassemble the silk flowers

To begin, select the flowers that go best with your project considering petal size and shape. Slide all the pieces off stem to separate the petal layers. Discard the plastic pieces.

Stamping on the flowers

Using your clear stamps and clear acrylic stamping blocks, stamp your chosen image on the petals. You may wish to stamp down the center of each petal or stamp the design evenly over the entire surface of each petal. Background clear stamps will stamp larger parts of each silk flower, where border clear stamps are great for stamping a patterned strip down the center of each petal. Stamping in one color or multiple colors will add yet more variety on your silk flowers.

Attaching the silk flowers

To attach your stamped flower to your paper, simply punch a small hole where you desire the center of your flower. Use a large brad or combination of round paper layers with a smaller brad to form the center of your flower. You may wish to clear stamp leaves or use silk leaves for foliage.

Clear stamping on silk flowers will add a new dimension to your scrapbooking and clear stamping projects. It's not only easy but FUN!
